You could probably hack it if you DDoSed it so the database was vulnerable, then replaced the encrypted password with the hash of your own.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out it really was Gabe and he was just on a proxy for some reason.

Even so, invision most likely uses md5 encryption for passwords. Which isnt exactly uncrackable but I doubt anyone went to the trouble of decoding it, thats if they could ofcourse.

What if they had a meeting at Vivendi's to decide wether or not it was going gold on monday, and after the meeting, Gabe posted from there? or from wherever? The most obvious scenario is probably what happened: Gabe's post is real, and nobody believes it because it's just against all senses to admit that the game is finally ready. Over anylizing the post won't give you a clue.



But it's best to just wait for an official statement.

edit your cookie and relace your userid to match gabe's and replace your md5 hash to match the one you found in the mysql and you're in his account... simple as that

I'm wondering then why the whole Steampowered administration team hasn't replied on their own forums yet.



Now we have this post, and then complete radio silence. No post to confirm that it was Gabe, or wasn't him.
