AMX Mod X 0.20 Preview

Why doesn't valve just put built-in admin support? It just seems like it would be so much easier just to have something like AdminMod and MetaMod come with Steam out-of-box.

I personally can't stand playing on servers with AMX installed. Would be nice to have some built in commands with the game. I feel like AMX just causes unneccessary lag. To each his own I guess...(WC3 mod...)

they should probably have a simple gui vote command for maps and kicking players (rather than un-userfriendly systems) and the same for kicking / banning players, that's all that's really needed.

Thats completely untrue. If you are lagging on amx servers, its because the server ops have too many mods and plugins running. And many of them do.

I'm in 100% agreement with the fellow suggesting easy-to-use GUI interfaces, at least for kicking players. It's so annoying to have a hacker on your team on an AMX MOD server (which defaults to not allowing normal users to cast a kick vote), and beg and plead with your teammates to please open their console and type 'vote <nnnn>' to kick the hacker. Because you and I both know that the chances of enough of your teammates getting off their behinds to cooperate are slim to nil.



If any AMX MOD people are listening, AdminMod got it right. Turn on this feature by default, still allowing admins to tweak the behavior how they wish if they don't want it that way. But do whatever you can to put the tools to make life difficult for hackers back in the hands of their intended victims. (And if there's some command that will allow players to launch kick votes that I don't know about, someone please reply and tell me what it is?)
