I am a bit concerned about the m4 considering that in my opinion the ak is slightly more accurate and powerful. It seems from the test that changing the crosshair in the fashion will reduce the full auto control of the m4 in my opinion increasing the gap between ak and m4 further (considering the controllable recoil is it's own real advantage). But i am sure that if valve was considerate enough to release this information then, the will address this issue if there is a serious out cry from the community.

I dont see how they are the same when on all of the graphs (but one), the deviation is biased upwards on Source meaning it has more recoil on average than it did in 1.6.
Am I stupid or do I see the opposite. Looks more like:

MP5: Average of 18% less deviation

AK-47: Average of 25% less deviation

M41A: Average of 8% more deviation

MP5 (running): Average of 26% less deviation

AK-47 (running): Average of 2% more deviation

M41A (running): Average of 1% more deviation

So the M41A is the only weapon (of these 3) with marginally more recoil under source, as depicted in the article.

          EDIT:

Btw, if the first column is bullet numbers, and the fourth deviation, what are the blue and yellow columns?

Nvm, I see the blue is time from start to each shot, meaning that source rof is very slightly longer to empty 15 bullets from each gun except the m41a which is 1/10 sec faster.

But there is something like recoil in the beta actually, if I compare the ak 1.6 with sourde f.e. there are huge differences. I would guess there is a problem with the netcode or something so that the crosshair won't size down fast enough - even if you have 100fps.

Because even with a ms rate of 40 it feels like 200 or more in 1.6! Far too laggy... Valve should throw an eye on this....

The 2nd column is the number of tests run for this bullet number, the 3rd column is the time delta since the first shoot.

you are correct. sorry, but i got confused between the two graphs. in any case, it's biased downwards which isnt good either.

ewwwww, after playing, the recoil feels completly diffrent. colt does fire noticable faster, and you can easily fire 3 shot bursts with out adjusting for recoil at all, and all 3 shots land EXTREMELY close together. i would support the ROF changes to colt, and the first few shots more accurate with the ak, but it feels so far off from 1.6
