No one has incorrectly mentioned that they changed the AK, yet? :)

      Actually...
The M4, The AK, They've Changed!

Firing is very different than 1.6. M4 and AK patterns are incredibly close and tight at close range. The further you get away, the more "random" they feel. While you may be thinking that it sounds like very little has changed, there is one thing that's quite new — the crosshair doesn't show the randomness.
Of course, I can't say whether or not their assessment is correct.

Despite Cliffe's comment, the run speed seems a lot faster to me. Both in third and first person view.

EDIT: Why would they use an 8 bit image with the reflections? In that one Half-Life 2 demonstration demo (a long time ago), they showed reflections/image distortion being drawn correctly, not changing to a new 6 bit image every 6 seconds. Is this just on the scope, or on all reflective surfaces? If if it's on just the scope, I think they would do it to prevent people from trying to no scope. It would be quite a bit easier to no scope if that was drawn correct. Still looks crappy though, and I think they should adjust it.

Also, I think it would be pretty neat to be looking at a glass bottle or something and then all the sudden see an enemy in its reflection.

How would it be easier to no scope? Sniper rifles don't fire backwards.

            C'mon, it's just a scope, it's not a rear view mirror.

Someone needs to play Toca Racer Driver 2...

Hmmm... as a side note, being a webdesigner that sometimes need to do some webdevelopment, it will now be hard to find cascade style sheet content on google, because ppl will start to fill the web with the CSS acronym for Counter-Strike:Source, instead of CS:S.

            Nervermind.

I still think I'll take his word over yours. It makes sense that things might seem faster on a completely different physics engine.

Why don't you time it to find out for sure?

Haven't you ever watched Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd? I've seen curved barrels that shoot yourself in the face!

How are the hitboxes? Do shots consistently register when and where they're supposed to?

Also, generally speaking, is it still hs heaven or has the gameplay been changed enough to reward mostly the people who have the skills and wherewithall to actually go for a hs?

I finally got the chance to go play it yesterday. It's great because I'm as excited about CS now as I was back when I was a freshman in high-school.

Yeah, uh, I would too if I were you. Though, I'm not concerned about it enough to go test it out. Playing two CS and CS:S videos next to each other makes it pretty noticable, well to me anyways.

If the scope was drawn ingame correctly, it would be much easier to no scope. From the look of azzor's screenshot, you can see that the scope is zeroed in right where the center of the screen is. Therefore, if an enemy showed up on the scope, you'd have a easier time hitting him b/c the AWP's no-scope shot is also located in a general area around the center of the screen. The whole challenge of taking a no-scope shot is guessing where the center of the screen is; a screen-centered scope that correctly draws the game would make trying to find the center of the screen easier. Fortunately, though, the scope doesnt draw the world correctly, and it doesn't make it easier to no scope b/c of this.

All I was saying was that it would make it easier IF it were correct--not that it makes it easier now. It more or less confuses you if you try to use it to your advantage now.

i think the coolest thing about cs:source is the fact that hitting someone with a flash/smoke hits for 1 damage. Takes 1 armor point away but if no armor takes away 1 hp lol. Nothing like dinking someone with a flashbang even if he shoots you in the head afterwards.

Hihi, i fear that as well, especially since the first thing Google will do after doing a search for cs:s is suggest to change it to "css" :). The good news is, no counter strike results for a "css" seach yet (at least not on the first 5 pages).

Oh, great Article btw. Usefull shotguns will be awesome!! cant wait for some infight action
