Yeah, you can not bunny hop...heres my impressions...

+ First thing youll notice; everything looks sharper and cleaner

+ HUD text is larger and the fonts crisp

+ Transparent GUIS and rounded windows are sexy

+ All models look detailed and alot better

+ Gun sounds are alot louder and feel dangerous, even the MAC sounds like it could tear you up

+ Surface sounds match the enviroment, sounds more refined

+ Weapon damage upped and the physics make killing someone feel alot more real, its amazing, no matter how you kill them you now feel like youve owned them

+ Blood splats and fire look awesome

+ Flashbag effect is awesome, aswell as the grenade

      + Sound is crisp

+ You can see other players flashlight beams, and your beam is quite likes Halo's

      - Your flashlight goes through players and physic objects

      - Shadows seem dynamic but the flashlight doesnt effect them

      - Ambient sound isnt what its cracked up to be, still sounds pretty quiet

      - Unlike the HL2 leak moving barrels and stuff is now controlled by a push surrounding the player, so you never feel like your touching anything, it just seems to get pushed when you get close :/

      - Dust is a boring map, not much to show, wouldve been better using Aztec.

      - You can still buy two flashbags, coupled with the new intense effect + 42 player server = BLINDED forever

      - The new auto snipers models are ugly and the sounds are rubbish, hopefully someone will port the old ones over

      - Theres alot of tearing textures when you die

= The scope reflections on guns updates every six seconds, during that period when you move it just rotates the image (Speculation, but its gotta be how it works)

= Falling from a height makes a new CRUNCH EUGH sound and you cant move, feels more realistic

= It feels faster, it feels great not being a slow poke

= The left hand side of the CT spawn is boring, I think theyre going todo something cool with it, I hope anyway :X

= The bombs pretty cool, its the same code always though.

If this is true, that is unacceptable. Do it right or remove it. When games get this immersive, having something like that would break the illusion.

Imagine this situation along with me:

          ---------------------------

You can see a closed squeaky door behind you in the reflection.

You hear the sound of a door opening that is centered in your audio field. (To the skilled player that means that the door opened is either the one behind you or the one in front of you just on the other side of the crates that are obscuring your view.)

Then you either look at the reflection or become sub-consciously aware that the image of the door in the scope reflection hasn't changed to show the door opening, so you assume it was the door in front of you opening.

You shoot through the crates hoping to damage the guy coming through the door behind them.

However, despite the fact that the reflection said the area behind you was clear, you get shot in the back.

You get very angry that the reflection lied to you and you quit CS forever.

          ---------------------------

Do you want that to happen?

Even when you turn all reflections on in the world you still dont see yourself in bottles, and Im pretty sure you cant see other players either.

The reflection doesnt show any details, it doesnt show players either, it justs shows a very small 8bit version of dust that moves when you turn. It's a gimmick, it wont affect gameplay at all.

This is just a guess since i haven't gotten a chance to play CS: Source yet, but the running speed probably feels faster because the environment is much more realistic and detailed, and as such you get a much greater sense of speed while you're in motion.

Jason rode the bottom of the scoreboard everytime we played

i never really noticed the player being pushed back while knocking over a barrel in the half-life 2 movies, like in cs:s. hopefully they change that, it's the only thing i don't like with the physics.
It's to prevent you from running through the barrels after knocking them over on account of you running faster than them I'd assume.

Most Counter-Strike players, cynical as ever, expected Source to be the nail in the coffin for Counter-Strike as a skill game.
It really annoys me when any group of players just assumes themselves to be the majority. Now I'm not saying it's true, and I'm not saying it ain't, but I don't like to read statements like that in articles.

That said, I'm glad they're coming around to it. Still can't wait until the beta becomes available to me.
