i think its unrealistic that a special force have a handicap of not being able to climb on the bigger boxes that are even shorter than the guy himself
Porting CS to the Source engine should make it all realistic right? Wrong, if they put boosting back in then it won't be realistic.Comment

I don't think it was intentional. Probably just a side effect of the new physics that they hadn't really thought about. That wouldn't be high on my to-do list for making CS:S either.
why did they take away boosting in the first place?KiGrind wrote..
Why.. do you keep posting? Every single post you make screams "IM A FUCKING IDIOT". Even if people DID get shot by a guy with an awp, firing in mid air, the jumping delays would have absolutely no relevence in this situation. Keep in mind the movement delay doesn't take affect until they hit the ground, so if an awper jumps and shoots you while he's in mid air, you're already dead and THEN he'll slow down.
I like the jumping stops it keeps fucktards from jumping out and shooting you in the air with the awp bullshit. How will it look realistic when there is some dude jumping off another guys shoulder 10 feet off him to a box??
10 feet huh? Figure that out all on your own? Even if you did (not likely), you're still wrong.
Is it realistic for CTs and Ts to just magically appear, buy stuff from out of thin air, take multiple shots to the chest and still be able to run off just fine, all the while each person has a handy-dandy-radar somehow strapped to their body? No, it's not. Shut the fuck up.It will be like in CS 1.6 most likly.
Are we even talking about the same game? What do you think CS:S is? Because it's a port of CS 1.6 to the HL2 engine, give or take some small changes.WHAT I DON"T GET:
The autobiography of KiGrind. In stores now.Why didnt they take advantage of the barrels to boost themselves??
Assuming we can stand on overturned barrels, they're not very tall. I don't think there's a way for players to stand barrels and other objects back up. Plus, this would take forever.I mean you can either leave them or the CTs can shoot them out so you have to move them back, etc etc...
And now I just have no idea what you're talking about. Also like the fact you can't jump then run off cause it keeps that bunny hoping out that so many of us hate. Sure you can get a few hops in 1.6 but its nothing like 1.3 if you know what I mean.
I think people are saying that the jump-delay system has been changed a bit, to where you are slower or stop more often.. or something. But I don't think they'd even talk about jump-delays if it was exactly the same as 1.6.The fact that someone can't jump out and and fire the awp and duck back in is good since there will be time for you to blast his ass away.
What does it matter? If he hits you, you're screwed whether he can run away or not. If he's firing at someone else and you can't hit him while he's coming out and shooting, you don't deserve to hit him while he's running away.Comment

I wish I could play with and without boosting, just to feel the gameplay difference. I'm betting keeping boosting in, as much as I hate the idea of magically floating above another guy's head, is probably better for gameplay.
Something unique I think would be to implement some sort of 'climb' feature, i.e. your gun would go away for a moment as you used your 'hands' to hoist yourself up onto an object, with taller objects taking more time to climb. But that's just me.Comment

Nope, that's not just you, I think we'd all like to see players actually "climb" ladders, gun slung over the shoulder, rather than run up them gun in hand, with the ability to fire (albeit inaccurately). However, I'm guessing that kind of radical change isn't going to be implemented in this incarnation of cs.

no i really dont want to see anything like this implemented at all. You're already at a huge disadvantage by using a ladder that would just make people on them way too vulnerable.

My opinion: Gameplay isnt worth sacrificing for realism.Comment
