CS: Source Cafe BETA

Jess Cliffe announced today on the Steam forums that the CS: Source BETA began pre-loading today for cyber cafes part of the Valve Cyber Café Program. The first phase of this BETA will be playable at these cafes on Wednesday, the 11th.



Those of us with Counter-Strike: Condition Zero or ATI vouchers will get access to the Counter-Strike: Source BETA later this month. Here's the full post from cliffe:[break="click here to read cliffe's post"]

Pre-loading of the Counter-Strike: Source beta to cyber cafés begins today. On Wednesday, this first phase of the beta will open and the game will be playable at all cyber cafes that subscribe to the Valve Cyber Café Program. Later this month, the beta will be extended to owners of Counter-Strike™: Condition Zero™ and ATI Fulfillment Coupon holders.



This beta serves as a compatibility test of the Source engine as we near the completion of development on Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source. During this limited-time beta, issues can be reported using the in-game bug-reporting tool. In addition any crashes will automatically generate a report back to Valve's bug database. We thank everyone for their participation, and we hope Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source live up to your expectations.

Just because they know were going to buy there games regardless they think they can throw release dates around and then not meet them.



It makes me sick, I hope one day they learn to shut there dirty lying mouths and release something on time.

Good news for everyone though. I really hope the BETA for CZ owners doesn't overlap with when I'm returning to school though (24th). That'd the just a kick to the head there for me.

heh everyone has been complaining on the steam forums about when CS:S beta comes out. Now they finally got the info and everyone is disappointed cuz they have to wait till the end of the month (which isnt an exact date).



And ya i wanna play it before i go back to school too. But if preload begins for us 2 weeks later, like originally planned...preloading for us would start 23rd...and if there is 2 days before we play, that means we dont play until 25th.

Well cliffe just said that what he said in the video interview about the CZ owners getting it 1-2 weeks later is still valid so maybe we will get it next week. How ever this is great news.

Well, atleast we know its ready to go for testing. Now we just have to wait about a week after the 11th for it to start for us CZ/ATI people.

What makes me sick is people who talk about "hating" companies without having the guts to do anything about it. Put your money where your mouth is and boycott the product; only then do you have any right to complain. If that's your plan, then by all means broadcast it to the world. Otherwise you're wasting everyone's time.



In regards to the actual news post, I'm glad to see the Beta is ready to go. I wonder if any of my local Cybercafés are members of the program...

CS: Source BETA slipped from late July to mid-August. Give me a break.

Isnt Half Life2 expected on shelves for september 1st, so beta testers will have like a day to try it :)
