    Steam Client Update

A small Steam update has been released, aiming to fix some HL2 cache validation and crashing problems.
A small number of Half-Life 2 customers have been experiencing problems while playing the game, and we have traced these issues to corrupt Steam cache files. We've released a Steam update to help resolve these issues. If you have been experiencing problems such as crashing during gameplay or startup of Half-Life 2, please restart Steam and then click on one of the links below. Steam will then automatically verify your cache files. The verification process will take roughly five minutes to complete.
As usual, restart your Steam client to grab the update.

            Steam Client Update

A new update was released for the Steam client tonight. The update fixes three outstanding issues that a number of users had experienced.
            • Improved in-game overlay compatibility with Kaspersky Anti-Virus

            • Fixed potential crash when launching a game and having a large chat history

            • Fixed error in client auto-updater which would incorrectly detect Steam already running, and then fail to update
I'm personally quite thankful for that middle fix there.

                Steam Client Update

The Steam client received a nice update tonight. Some bugs were squished and optimizations were made. Steam should automatically download the update, and while it does, be sure to take a look at the changes.

                • Optimized where clients get the list of available applications and subscriptions

                • Changed desktop .ico files and games list .tga files to be downloaded on demand, instead of being a blocking download during startup

                • Fixed serverbrowser not refreshing the internet list the first time it was displayed if it was right on startup

                • Fixed hardware survey not always saving that you said you did not want to participate

                • Fixed IMs from popping up while in-game

                • Fixed the bug that removes one character per line of copied text when pasting into a chat text entry

                • Fixed a crash on shutdown in some Source engine games

                    Steam Client Update

A huge update was released today for the Steam client.
                    • Added support for automatically launching a game after a retail install completes
This update is positively massive and may take you hours to download. With that said, you should probably restart your clients now to get the update process started.

Steam is supporting 3rd party games. That is a huge concept for Steam to do. haha. Means I get to play my TS and other fun as hell games again, on world's worst servers.

It was there in the last one.

There is no preload tonight as already stated.

There's always been support for 3rd party mods if you've ever tried them they've always been added under the 3rd party mods heading below the normal games. However the last update placed the 3rd party mods above the normal games and this one reverts them.
