2) Multiplayer is a big thing, not in Doom 3 I suspect. Their MP support is worse than MOHAA, but then it was always about single player.
3) HL2 will be great fun, and worth buying IMO.

I dont think any of this is making anyone feel any better. But these Hl2 screenies are alot better than nothing. I must admit even with all these delays and the one yesterday...I might actualy buy the damn game.
I just wish though that Valve didnt do this,delay things without indepth explanations. They need to start communicating with the community, they might loose some of us if they dont.

Not all about graphics, HL2 gameplay will be amazing - CS gameplay still beats a lot of online games nowadays. In the end its just aesthetics, plus the HL2 graphics are still damn realistic - enough too keep everyone going for another 5 years

HL2's strength will be the Source Engine's physics, while Doom 3's strength is it's lighting...Comment

Half-Life 2's lighting is MUCH more realistic than DooM 3's; the light in Half-Life 2 is actually REFLECTED by the walls and other objects, thus making the areas in the game look considerably more realistic than in DooM 3. (There won't be any pitch-black areas unless you're stuck in an area with no light sources.)
On the plus side, there are the extremely realistic facial expressions and character graphics. Come on; no game can hold a candle to such realistic depictions of human beings.
Though the basic story in each game is the same (experiment accident, monsters teleport in), the details make for VERY different experiences. SO BUY BOTH! (And get CS:S for free!)Comment

besides.. if you say HL2's grafix are bad.. that's just utterly ridiculous. HL2's grafix definitely do not suck. I mean.. have you seen a vast outdoor environment in Doom3 like you see on that screenshot? I don't think so.Comment
