I don't see how a delay encourages sales of Condition Zero. I believe the opposite is the case.

Think about it. Once the BETA is released, a million previews will be written. People are going to be talking about how great the game is. That will drive sales of Condition Zero. I bet there are enough people for an accurate BETA test already.

Well said. As soon as some reviews get out about how the game kicks ass CZ will sell like crazy just because people will want to get thier hands on the newest/best game in thier minds.

Bad Business? Its a beta, they didn't even have to do it in the first place.

They chose to involve the community, you don't have to purchase CZ or go to a cyber cafe, they are just offering it. That alone should be enough to satisfy you.
wise up there chief...every product they have announced in recent years has been delayed...you think that is good business??? i am not bitching about not being able to get the game as i stated..its called reading before you type...fyi..that means (For You Information) i am looking at it in a purely business pov and it doesnt look good...constantly missing release dates whether or not they are just markers is beyond the point...for it to happen time and time again is like i said, bad business plain and simple...i was not arguing whether or not it was just a beta or that they didnt even have to offer it in the first place..hahah... simple minded

Valve is doing this on purpose for a reason: to laugh at your reactions. I have a high patience level, I'm willing to cope with the delay and wait. I will admit I was looking forward to pre-loading it today, but I get the feeling they're delaying it because it would cause serious network instability.

you guys are the worst, either valve fanboys or sensationalists. i only come to this site because for some reason valve listens to the people here for advice on cs. it's ridiculous, the opinions stated here are what encouraged the shield, what make valve think the weapons are balanced and thought those ridiculous price changes that cliffe suggested were reasonable. this site is a detriment to the community, it offers biased reporting from reporters with no tap on the pulse of the community. the people who post here are the same people who post on the steam forums. i'm posting this for my hope that some of the people who frequent this site will open their eyes and not believe the nonsense that breeds here. the idiots who write the news here fuel the idiots who post the comments. go to gotfrag, see what people who know about this game have to say. the people who post on the forums there are more knowledgable than the people who post the news here. it's depressing.

p.s. no need flame, i won't be checking this thread

                          I know I am.
True that. Delays in games happens all the time. It's nothing new. Just go play something else in the meantime. It's not the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine).

Their done with HL2, it's up to the publisher now.
