    *Sigh*

Who the hell cares? You'd have to be a REAL fanboy to let this type of news get to you so much. Why the anticipation? Why do you WANT this game so much?

    Gawd.... Fanboys...

Sorry rze, I was going off the Amazon.com pronouncement. If they don't get that from valve, do they make it up?
Retailers make up release dates to sell pre-orders usually.

Why? I'm here for the models. And the occasional tidbit of info about CS:S.

I want the game. I still play CS from time to time. But I don't want it enough to get all BITCHIN' MAD when a release date turns out to be off (and hell, this isn't even a release date.) Why's it so hard to accept disappointment and move on with life? Okay, so maybe posting aggravated messages on a random message board might help give you a little outlet, but I still don't see where all the anger's coming from.

Agreed. The official icon looks like crap, and so does the Half-Life 2 icon.

I haven't seen the official icon, but I must say, the one you displayed there is quite nice. Wish the official icon was available for comparison though.

I guess supporting valve is against all emotional odds, therefore it is considered flaming to support valve? Am I getting this right?

In either case, Valve supports us, so I see no reason for us not to support them. It would not be a pleasant world if someone jumped on anothers throat each time they miscalculated something/made a mistake in writing.

Imagine, you tell your friends, which you have had for 7 years, a few incorrect pieces of information. Once they discover you told them inadvertant, incorrect points, they jump on your throat calling you a liar and an untrustworthy person, abandoning you and making alliances against you.

In this case, its a Beta test. Everyone is bashing valve about creating a "false" release date for a Pre Load on Steam, when the date was not even official, as I previously stated. Why turn on a friend that has been by your side for 7 years, supporting you through a game that is based on an engine which is extremely outdated?

Why doesn't everyone just back off for a second, and think about how many beta tests have been delayed without informing the community immediately and then get back to me.
                lol anyone?

                kthx ill take one

this is stupid. don't ever tell us anything, Valve! Be more like id and just say "When it's done". I'll believe the source engine is real when I see it and not before. This is dumb.

MY GOD. I seriously bought that lousy-ass CZ so i could be the first to play CSS and now... oh my god i'm so sick of valve's bs. seriously, aren't people at these companies reprimanded for not working hard enough to meet deadlines?

Don't act like valve has really done anything for us either. all these mods were made by the community and then leeched by valve. I bought CZ last freaking week to play CSS beta. I hate this so much.

Dont you just enjoy their marketing strats? Also to prove this is, I took a pic of their servers today. CZ players roughly 10,000...if its a ploy you could expect the CZ players to double, maybe even triple by the realease of CS:S. What would u guyz think then?

If you've ever looked at the Steam Status page, you'd know that 10k players is about an average high.

Agreed, the one that was previously shown is better. With a bit of touching up it could very well be a submittable icon. I highly suggest he submit it to cliffe or post it on the cs.net forums for consideration.

That release date was never official, it was only an estimate on when it would be completed and, just in case you weren't sure of it, they did get hacked.
There doesn't have to be an offical date to be delayed. HL2 had maybe one offical date, and how many times was it delayed?
Also, I don't know your basis for the half ass programming, I doubt you've seen the coding involved in creating steam, and I don't see how releasing multiple patches is a negative thing.
You are right about me not seeing the code for steam, but how does a company that codes leading edge 3D graphis/physics/AI not put together a simple "shell" program and instant messageing program?

                              A. Valve was never a friend of mine

                              B. If I'm not sure if my info is correct, i dont say it or i announce it might be false.

It's not that I don't like valve, I just don't like how companies are run. Enron! woot!

I'm not usually the one to suggest lame-ass boycotts, but seriously, everyone who reads this, play something else. Like.... all week. Or at least at the bare minimum, log off of steam every time you're done. See if we can get some revenge. Otherwise, we can just keep being a giant community of bitches.
