Seems they still haven't fixed the player-specific hitbox bug.

Why cant they fix the bugs that give ATI users poor FPS rates? I have a Radeon 9600 PRO, a Athlon XP 1800+ OC'ed to over 2 GHz, and 512 MB DDR ram, but I only get about 30-40 FPS in CS, 50+ when staring at a wall. In CZ, my FPS is nearly the same, slightly worse.

what about the weird server browser problem i get where like 300 servers have over 200 ping, and like 10 have below 100. but when i join the high pinged server, it's a low ping? is that the "problem with the server browser not updating correctly."?

the problem is most likely your motherboard, a few people who had this problem had great computers but an old motherboard or the motherboard didn't function that great.

Hmm, I doubt it could be my motherboard. I have 2 of them, and I switched them yesterday, but I still get crappy performance rates.

Have you tried ati_npatch 0 and ati_subdiv 0 in console yet?

On my old ATI 9200 I could max out on 100FPS just fine if I wanted, with dips coming from when I ran through smoke.

I usually had it capped at about 75FPS however.

Also, still no word on the browser fix for everyone still with the problem, however it's been noted in a steampowered.com thread there are a couple of new icons that were added to the gcf tonight

http://www.jadephoenixclan.cjb.net/files/icons.jpg (really packed, if so try the link below)

I have 9600 XT and push 99 fps all the time. If i set fps_max up, and set developer to one, I can get up to 160 (but cant stay there)

But anyways, back to the steam update...I entered my ATI Activation Key for the HL2 offer, and it said it cant be processed now, however I can play any of the other games (then gave me a list of the games in the premiere pack). Was this a normal error, since HL2 is not out yet??? I dont want to be stuck without HL2! Did anyone else do this yet!?!?!? Please tell me what happened and what steam said! ( Oh yeah, I did this to an exhisting account, some may have started a new account to put in the activation key, and I don't want to hear from you :)

Last I knew, the ATI key allowed you a limited play of the current Steam games for either a month's time or until HL2 comes out, or even indefinately.

I don't know for sure, as I don't have the specifics off hand.
