Can anyone shed any light on Jolt servers being down? It can't be down to the DDoS cos I'm online with my Nildram BB. Since Nildram host Jolt that means I'm only a matter of a few switches away......

Thats a DoS, a denial of service.



A DDoS is not done by one computer. It is often distributed by a trojan or something like that and it gives the attacker an army of unsuspecting computers to carry out the attack.



Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what MS blast was for. Thats why Linux fanboys were sending it to each other.

maybe they're doing it just to piss people off and flood their forums with annoying people saying how much Steam sucks.

Throw some popups and banners on the forums and site, periodically make steam break, get a flow of hits from people wanting to complain, then throw steam up and reapeat. Could make some nice pocket change off of that.
