Sound stutters are still there for me. :/

Removing SecuROM CD/DVD check helps though:

Is anyone else a counter-strike player who comes to a "Counter-strike nation" and a little depressed about seeing Half-life this half-life that.. i understand it's a half-life mod but, a half-life2 update has nothing to do with cs.

For those who think im offtopic, i decided posting this here because.. it kind of shows what im talking about.

not to get people thinking that im a troublemaker or anything it's just that i only have counter-strike and i've seen no cs news here in ages so it's making me not so anxious to view the sight.

not to mention the potd is the same everyday and such
Hmm, to play CS: Source you'd have to own Half-Life 2 in some form. We discuss updates for Steam/HL2, not about other mods or anything else.

Now, we'd be more than happy to invent Counter-Strike news if you'd prefer.

The way HL2 ends isn't a "cliffhanger". It is a cut to something that tries to imply the irrelevance of your actions and the passing of time. Period. You may wonder about what happens next in some respects, but you don't learn anything new. A cliffhanger REQUIRES that you learn something new. You learn NOTHING at the end of HL2. What a waste!
        cliffhanger

        n.
          1. A melodramatic serial in which each episode ends in suspense.

          2. A suspenseful situation occurring at the end of a chapter, scene, or episode.

          3. A contest so closely matched that the outcome is uncertain until the end.
Half-Life 2 ends in suspense. An ending with a huge explosion not even knowing if Gordon, Alyx, or even if anyone is alive, is pretty suspenseful to me. The ending is definitely uncertain, in fact, it's so uncertain that we don't even know why we are fighting yet. We do learn quite a lot leading up to the ending too.

Actually, it looks much much better than regular DoD. Even as a early build.

Actually more people play counter-strike, as all 3 counter-strike games are at the top. But yes you're right, without HL there would be no CS.

You do learn something. G-man has the ability to stop time. You're basically "playing" his game.

I can't tell if you're asking the number of hl/hl2 players here, or hl/hl2 players in whole. But stop arguing, the number of cs players sweeps the number of hl players online by a high majority.

I realized that since the surpraise is for the everybody who bought hl2 including the retail buyers the surpraise could not be dod:s.

Not quite -- "we" retail buyers still have to connect via Steam, so DoD:S could also be ours. In fact: There is no playing HL2 without Steam/inet connection...
