does valve realize that a lot of gamers no nothing about computers? most of them just fuck computers up resulting in spyware/virus infested sluggish machines that crash when you run anything.

of course this only applies to Source running properly on different hardware/software configurations.

if they want to test Source out they should just make it an open beta.

Oh and since everyone else is tossing in maps they'd rather have.

            Inferno, the gentlemans map.

i was actually hoping to see Aztec because of the water... but then i realized Aztec wouldnt allow everyone to test it on an even basis. Dust is balanced between hardware and software from what i have seen (yes ive seen dust on source). Also on Dust, everyone has strats and camping and snipe spots. Source will showcase how these aspects could be over come by destroying boxes or hurling grenades that send barrels flying toward a player. in my opinion dust is the best pick.

about the comment about the taj mahal... Dust is in an arab country, not india. but then again the taj mahal has some arab influence on it. w/e

this comment thread has really shown how immature the CS community is. a whole bunch of twats complaining about a privilage they get, and keep asking for more.

So if 365 of us (and you know there'll be more) play for 1 hour each and one of us crashes, that's ok? That's not something I'd be happy with.
it would be 365 of you play... each play for 24 hours and only one of you crashes. that would be a yearly crash

I really hope they don't go with dust. They'd have to be fools to not realise that dust2 is the most popular CS map by far...

sounds like u dont have cz to me. besides, arent these ignorant gamers the ones they are selling their product to? if u believe valve expects a full report on crashes from the users you show your ignorance. they will automatically retrieve all relavent information when you crash.

This whole BETA thing is starting to suck... i was excited about it from the begining knowing that i own CZ and will get to Beta test, but since CS:S is going to be released with HL2 and the HL2 release date is still sept 1st or something, the period of the Beta test before the actual game comes out is like a month. the only thing that the month of Beta test sounds like to me is a month of my computer crashing. I am considering just skipping the test so that my computer's resources wont get all jazzed up. and its only one map. I'd play it for a week and get bored. Plus there's no way to tell Valve what you experienced when it crashed. they may know why it crashed but you wont, and where is the satisfaction in that?

                        Who can say "cockmuncher".

It's a beta, did you expect to get the whole game for free or something.

i could care less about it being one map. but my point that the period of testing is very close to the period of the final release and it may not be worth the problems your computer is encountering while playing the test. by the way what you said had no significant value whatsoever. just letting you know that your a fool is all...you missed the point, one map is fine for this purpose of testing the engine... and i can say cockmuncher "tibi08 is a cockmuncher." there you go big guy, do you want a soda?

One month's preview is better than no preview And that's on the assumption that HL2 even meets the deadline.

CS:Source is in great shape, and I don't see it impacting the RC date. It is the plan to include it in the regular and collectors edition boxes.

i agree that a preview is better than no preview, i just dont want it to screw up my comp if its only going to be for a month

                              ive said all i can...

Perhaps your post should've read "This whole BETA thing is great, it will give some people the ability to experience the game straight away for free, without waiting for the official release date. Personally, I might wait until the final release as I am concerned about the stability of beta software".
