Not true, it depends entirely on your video card and your drivers. Some people can run D3D better then most people run OpenGL. And Vica-versa. It all just depends on what you have, there's no 'right' or 'wrong' rendering mode.

Hm, for me too, I ran OpenGL in both 1.5/1.6, I used to get an avg. with 90 fps using custom high quality models. Now I get an avg. of 70fps with default models, tried using custom models and got like 50fps~

I liked 1.5 but it is a thing of the past. Although I like the steam menus and friends "concept" (notice i say concept becuase it can definatley be improved), I do belive steam is making cs gameplay worse every update--and not to mention the amount of updates they spit out every week, it drives the average cs player mad i would think.



But getting rid of WON is for the better.
