All of these updates look great! Glad to see they added more power to the nades after taking away the blast-through-wall behavior. :)

These people whining about CZ is kinda' silly. I suppose that after 5 years they expect Valve to just keep giving free updates for the next few decades. "I bought Half-Life 30 years ago and haven't gotten a update now since 2018.... Valve Sucks!".

You idiots also presumably bought Windows 95, 98, 2000 and XP.

I would bring up how often you replace your vehicles but I'm probably preaching to children on tri-cycles eagerly eyeing bicycles or (gasp) a Moped.

Valve is a company that employs highly gifted individuals with families to feed and house. Their work needs and deserves compensation like any other job.

They COULD have made Half-Life way back when and then begin work on the next Half-Life release..but no....instead they embraced the MOD another company created, joined forces with them and with many updates and years later....look what they've done.

Then they spent a long time and many resources and partnerships with other companies (some that didn't pan out) to make CZ.

They aren't asking for a fortune. Why don't you brats go mow a lawn or two or make my Big Mac for a week and spend a little money to update a great game and STOP DEMANDING FREE STUFF ALL THE TIME.

I don't remember VALVe taking anything away from cs1.6

No you didn't. And no I didn't either. You and I both paid for Half-Life or Counter-Strike as is straight out of the box. Anything else after that is a bonus from Valve. If you don't like any of the free bonus stuff they give you, it is poor form to flame them for it. It's free!

Now Valve is rewarding those who bought their latest product with more updates and CS:Source BETA. It's not like they un-plugged those that said they are satisfied with original CS and don't want CZ.

You say you are satisfied with CS, then you don't really need any updates do you?

I recently got a chance to try out CS:CZ last night and it's not all that bad. For $20 canadian, I would be willing to purchase it.. I find they did a great job on upgrading the maps even though the technology was so outdated.



so it wasnt a complete disaster or anything but I think making it a free update would have been better in the long run for valve:



- unified CS community

- happy CS community because of a great *update*

- more insentive for players to open their wallets up and all transfer over to CS:S and follow the HL2 revolution

Well, it has only taken them several years to fix some stupid problems, and have broken HEs terribly. I can only hope this wont make it into normal cs.
