Me like that new article, for once it's not a no-mark fanboi with no tech experience telling us it "looks good".

        Hurrar for intelligence!

"In the spirit of CS, Valve announced that there will be a CS: Source public BETA for Counter-Strike: Condition Zero owners and Cybercafe partners."

How about "In the true spirit of CS, Valve announced that there will be a CS: Source public BETA for everyone, released free on the internet"

Its only 20 dollars, jesus. I'm having a friend buy it for me and I'm paying him 30 dollars, 10 for walking, that fat faggot.

I payed $60 for CZ a few months ago, and I only played it for one day. But based on the fact that Valve supported the game for five years and is about to unleash the Second Coming of Gaming upon us, I don't feel ripped.

Replace "everyone" with "half-life owners". Now your logic is almost complete, but you forgot one thing: CS: Source isn't a half-life mod.

Actually you should probably replace "everyone" with "Steam users."

Either way, though, the logic sucks. Name one beta release that has been open to all who wanted to participate. There could very well be one, but I don't know of any.

Battlefield 1942 for a couple of months before it came out. I'm sure there more.

its a lot easier for a game like cs:s to get tons of beta testers ready and willing, a public beta would cost too much for such a game. a public beta would be used for a lesser known game that needs more people and would attract more users by doing so.
