People who bought HL or CS years ago DO NOT DESERVE PERKS such as this. Give me one good reason why you deserve CS:S beta, one GOOD reason.
Because without the fans the game would never have survived? Sure it's cheesy and trite, but it is still true. The people who bought HL those many years ago and are still faithful are the ones who deserve to beta CS:S. I'm not one of them, and I don't really have an interest in testing it anyway, but there are people who have been playing since the beginning and they've been waiting so long for HL2, so tell me why they, the foundation of half-life, don't deserve a few perks?

If the CS:S beta really is only like 2 weeks I'll sit it out (not buying CS:CZ) even though I'm dying to play CS:S.. Lets hope it's not much longer, I would get very annoyed.. :P
2 weeks away, not 2 weeks long.

This makes sense, but the perks have been coming for all these years. I mean, how many games are still updated after 6 years (talking HL, not CS)?

It was said at the Korean debut that was it both two weeks away and will end two weeks after it starts, according to nadomola's translation.

what sounds stupid is that they are calling it a BETA. If it's two weeks long then it ain't no beta... the original CS betas lasted much longer.

why dont they just call it two week trial for CZ owners who we still owe a lot to because they-practically-donated-their-money-to-us

CS beta stage lasted a year, but nothing really changed when CS went retail, the game was still updated and changed, only less frequently.. Imho CS therefor never went out of beta stage, because there is no CS final version.. Maybe CS 1.6 will be the final version for the HL mod version of CS, now that Valve switches it's attention to CS:S (probably).. This is a good thing, because CS needs to keep evolving to not get boring.. CS:S seems the perfect step now, same basic game(play) with uptodate physics and graphics, just what CS needed..

doubt 1.6 will be supported for long when cs2 comes out.

That's what I said, it's probably the final CS version as a HL mod.. The support (read: updates with version numbers etc) now goes to CS:S probably.. (I don't count CS:CZ in this)
