I have Intel and AMD.



AMD XP2700+ on my personal computer, Intel P4 3.0Ghz on my Media Center computer.



AMD Athlon64 3200+ on my studio main computer.

AMD XP2000 on my studio's editting computer.

Intel P4 1.5Ghz on my studio's on-the-road computer.



So I play for both teams. What do I think of 'em?



AMD is great for the price! Intel is great too!



AMD64 is a better buy in my opinion because its a purchase for the future instead of buying a P4 3.4Ghz HT or whatever their new naming scheme is.



All in all, they aren't all that different when you get into the upper tier of processors.



AMD doesn't have the price:performance ratio in their favor for the Athlon64 chips anymore.

ROFL, a Pentium is an Intel Chip, no offensive, but I think you need to put ****pentium**** isn't, so we know your joking around I hope :-P. If not please read some manuals or something :-D

Yeah lets see, I'm half AMD Half Intel

And I got one Lame ass who knows what CPU that like 7 years old lol. have 4 AMD Servers, 7 Intel Gaming Computer, 2 Intel xeon servers just got, because they were on sale and damn cheap U2 rackmounts :) thank god for the internet. ANd a couple AMD gaming ones, like my Laptop coming 64 Bit baby, rock on :)

Let put it this way my AMD 64 bit 3400+ CPU for my laptop cost me 250, now for me a long time computer user since I been born, I'm only 16 first computer when I was about 5 or 6, something like that, I know my prices and stuff, and I just think AMD has stayed cheap for its preformances and uses, you get what you pay for. Intel, prices range sooo badly, its not even funny. A 2.8 is 175$ vs a 3.0Ghz is 250$, and there isn't much differences between them, so I think Intel just does it to make more money, as AMD users come back and buy my AMD CPU, because they like the prices and performance. Both are great companies, and it just a battle, and its hard when you only get two chooses to pick from, err I should say there are other, but you can't do much with them :-P

Well, it's easier, if that's what you mean, but the easiest and best looking has to be Mac OSX. Now if I could actually install a useful program on a Mac.

im hoping my 2000+ will last me a year or two more, by then source mods should be real nice looking and ill be able to buy software that can really take advantage of it(you couldnt run 1.5 on hl's original specs). im looking forward to a amd64 though.

lol amd 3000+ is the equivelent to a 3.0ghz pentium because it does more per clock cycle if i remember rightly,

amd are cheaper and better than intel anyway all HT mallarky, nothing even uses HT yet not properly anyway, but there again nothing uses 64bit yet either, and speaking of which did you know an 84Ghz 256/128 bit system exists by Intel? no? that's right, i think they put something like 12 CPU's in it, and they are all 256/128 bit, and it will only run linux



oh and a side note.. MAC's Suck

the mac os is based on unix i believe and so its "virus free"... lol... the only fking virus they have is a one button sodding mouse!

although that said and done, the G4 and G5 cases are pretty swish. i still prefer my UV glowing Green Acrylic case bwahahah

AMD - cheaper, cooler (at least cooler than Presscotties) and shinier :)

no wait.. you can also cook an egg on an AMD proccessor



and remember this - intel has got this new latest pin arrangement with which there are intel CPUs with new kinds of pins. These pins are very weak and break after a number of installations and reinstallations (if thats how you call it) of proccessors into your motherboard...
