in the grand scheme of things calling CS:Source a BETA is just a huge fucking gimmick. All valve games will ALWAYS be in a BETA stage because they always have bugs, and they are always patching. Making a CZ only BETA test is just one way of milking more game sales, it's not a way of actaully BETA testing it. When they release the full version (or what they consider full version) then the REAL beta testing begins.

when you buy a valve game now, you have just signed up for an ever evolving, ever patching always in beta game.
Have you ever written a program of your own? Aboviously you havent. Show me a team of guys and gals who can program as complex of a game as HL2 / CS:S and not have one single bug, not one single exploitable flaw, not one single way to reverse engineer the game (hack it) and I'll give you a million dollars.

And people who get erections from games must be very, very lonely indeed.
I'm sorry, I'll try to get out more often.

Some people really have a hard time understanding certain things (yet)..

Gamehopper is right.. HL/CS also never went out of beta (Valve just made us believe that going retail with CS and other mods, but not much changed compared to the beta period of CS, only updates were/are less frequent), and the same will happen with all other valve games in the future I guess.. This is not a bad thing really, since it keeps games somewhat fresh.. Maybe they will "fix" the radar etc in CS:Source after 5 years aswell, you knows?

Some have a hard time understanding people buying CS:CZ to play CS:Source beta just because they don't care enough about it to do the same.. They even say those people need to get a life, who do they think they are saying that? I think those people need to grow up and learn that just because they don't give a shit doesn't mean others shouldn't aswell..

But it's nothing special, 90% of the CS community needs to grow up, all teenage kids thinking they are so cool talking crap to others on the internet about getting life's etc (LOL).. So I don't really blame you..

I wasn't saying that no one should care about CZ, because I don't (if that's what you are implying). I am just saying it is a shame that so many people like me who have been so involved in the community for so long are now left out on the beta of a revolutionary new engine, because they didn't put down $20-30 for an over hyped game.

The more I think about it though, the more I think it might almost be worth it to by CZ. But really I agree with pretty much everything Gamehopper said. There will be plenty of bugs even after the "release", and the so called beta will continue for years.

I am a software engineer working on FIFA 2005 at EA sports. Plus, i didnt say that the game had to be bug free, i just said that this whole CZ only BETA testing thing should not be considered a "BETA Test" if only lasts 2 months and people shouldnt have to go to the stores to buy CZ cuz it should be coming out soon for all to test.

The first time i saw a screenshot I was quite skeptical, and after those CS Source videos were released I was quite disappointed. But now that I see this new screenshot... oh my :) I am impressed.
those folks at valve STILL dont know what full scene anti aliasing is.

Wow. None of you kids know SHIT about processors.
agreed, CPU speed should be measured in "flops" rather than the very ambiguous "gigahertz".
