DAMN! My desktop computer missed the system requirements just in the processor part... (.8 ghz more was needed to meet the preferred requirement...)

oh well.. at least I have my laptop.. (3.2 ghz, 512 m ram, Nvidia 5100)

and year... intel sux... (all my comps are intel though...)

The way the AMD names work is. AMD 3000 = Intel 3ghz chip.

A few hours ago I bought CS:CZ so I can particapate in the CS:S beta test. Anyhow, CZ isn't too bad. I like it so far. I found that I was the only person who bought it today from my local gamestop, so I don't think people are rushing out to grab copies of it.

The big question is, how long will this beta periode last? If it's only a couple of weeks I won't bother with getting CS:CZ.. But if it will be months, then I probably won't be able to resist.. I couldn't care less about CS:CZ, but I really want to play CS:Source.. I hope it will revive CS for me.. I stopped playing CS in december last year after having played it since the absolute beginning (beta 1.0)..

Also, if it's a long beta periode, that probably means we also won't see HL2 etc yet for some time aswell I guess..

Woah there nostradamus, its like you're saying valve is a corporation, whose goal is to make money? Fact is, if you see it that way, you're playing $20 for total access to the beta. Compared with the warcraft beta, which had limited access and people ebaying their users, you are getting a deal.

It's been out for months, did you really expect to find the store full of people waving $100s at the clerk for a lick of the box?

Honestly, a lot of people didn't buy CZ because they thought it'd be terrible. I imagine the game sold decent amounts, but not in the amounts that VALVe wanted, so this is just a ploy to convince CZ-Haters to buy CZ for them only to install it so they have access to the CS:S beta.

I'm going to be one of those CZ-Haters to buy CZ just for the beta.

                  Aint that a bitch?
No, it's not a stunt. It's a method of accessing a small segment of the CS community, who are more likely than others to have PCs that can run CS: Source. In other words, CZ users are the ideal beta-testers in this case.

If you're seriously going to buy CZ just to play a beta of a game you can buy on your own maybe a month later, you need to get a life.

Yeah, I have to agree with HankPym here. Seriously, who cares if you can't play it for a month when others can? You must have a sorry life if you can't stand a month without CS Source. Go play Farcry online, same damn thing. And people who get erections from games must be very, very lonely indeed.

On a lighter note, Bokuho posted. So hes back?

i think one of the main reason half-life 2 being waiting on is so they can know everything about the hl2 code to prevent cheat been made quickly and easily same goes for cs:s i think, the piccy looks really nice should run fine on my 9600xt:), i got the cs realism pack the other day which has cz arms and model from the first one has put enjoyment back into cs for me until cs:s comes out, about buying cz... i dont really think its worth it, althought it is only £20 here and u get cs:s beta when it finally comes out.... could be waiting month's. Very nice piccy! roll on HL2 and CS:S

I, to think it is dumb that I don't get to be a beta tester because I decided not to buy CZ. I thought the game looked terrible and was uninspired by it's constant delays. I still have no urge to buy it, but I have been playing Counter-strike for over 5 or 6 years, and I think it's a shame that guys like me don't get to be in on the beta.

The game looks better than cs. I actually play it every now and then when I get bored. D:

in the grand scheme of things calling CS:Source a BETA is just a huge fucking gimmick. All valve games will ALWAYS be in a BETA stage because they always have bugs, and they are always patching. Making a CZ only BETA test is just one way of milking more game sales, it's not a way of actaully BETA testing it. When they release the full version (or what they consider full version) then the REAL beta testing begins.

when you buy a valve game now, you have just signed up for an ever evolving, ever patching always in beta game.

By jove, you're right! It's a massive conspiracy! And furthermore, everyone's a robot, and they're all trying to kill you!

Or maybe, they want to balance out any gameplay issues that arise from the new physics engine before they do a widespread release. The beta period is going to be so short that they're probably not expecting to come across many actual bugs - with HL2 so close to release they'd better be damn confident about their engine.

yah, the super complex rolling barrels which is powered by the almighty havok.

the beta period is so short because it really isnt a beta period at all.. unless the release date slips again.
