It's not all that bad, I have often had a good game of condition zero.

I just wish they remade it easy to mute.

              hi all,

I recently reinstalled steam to try and fix a problem I had creating LAN servers.

I downloaded the steaminstall_cs.exe, after I uninstalled Steam and deleted the Steam folder, from www.gotfrag.com and installed. On arriving the "Login" screen, I logged into my account.... and waited.... and waited..... and waited. I waited for an hour and a half.. and still nothing. I alt+ctrl+delete and see that Steam is taking up 99 CPU. So I end the task and try again.. Same thing. Uninstalled again, deleted the Steam folder again, and used an Steaminstall_Full from a different location. It's doing the same thing. I'm going to let it sit here trying to log in as I sleep, hopefully it'll work.. But if you guys have any solutions or could help, I'd love to see it! Thanks in advance.

for me the only time steam will use 100% cpu usage is when its verifying the cache files. but theres also a lot of HDD activity. if cpu usage is such a problem slowing down your computer, run steam with the command:

                "start /belownormal c:\steam\steam.exe"

Apparently some of the older install files, notably the Steam + CS file, are easily corrupted and shouldn't be used. In fact, the official Steam site doesn't link to that one any more.

Suggest you download straight from www.steampowered.com instead.

Yeah, do the small install, let it download, and when all else fails, remember to delete that clientregistry.blob file.
