It's pretty good for an XBOX title (on the XBOX, that is). Of course, that's taking it apart from the original Deus Ex, as by comparison it seems stripped down and simplified in many ways. Still, a fun game on the box... and yeah, pity they did such a lousy port.
Stop pirating games you idiots, and maybe they won't have to make titles that originally screamed PC for console, and then do a lousy half-assed port back to PC. Oh IW how I wanted to love you.Iason wrote..
For reference, "200% more performance" means three times as fast, which simply doesn't exist yet. For the sake of charity, however, I'll assume you meant "2x as fast" or "200% of the speed" or something like that.
buying a 9800XT would be stupid as you get 200% more performance from a card that costs a little more (X800pro).
The X800XT will get you nearly twice the performance, but the price difference is nearly $200 between the cards. I'd hardly call that "a little more" by any means. I still wouldn't buy a 9800XT when they cost nearly twice as much as the 128MB 9800 Pro, but I digress.
As far as the X800 Pro, however... it seems reviews are showing a 50-70% increase in speed depending on the test, and at closer to a $50 difference, yeah, that'd be worth the upgrade. It's certainly not twice as fast, though. If you can handle having less than the fastest of the fast, right now the 9800 Pro seems to be the sweet spot of price/performance for a higher-end card, at around $200 online.marc___1 wrote..
A GF2 runs CS:CZ nicely in my experience, so long as you don't go above 1280x960 and keep the AA off.
no
but it would run a bit slower with the higher detailed models compared to cs

The X800 Pro is running about $410 right now on pricewatch.
anyone know when the x800 xt pe will be released? i read in a pc gamer that the msrp of the regular x800 will be $400, and the price of the xt pe $500, BUT until the xt pe is released all the retailers are charging almost $500 for the regular x800, so i'm waiting for the xt pe to be released which should bring down the prices of most ati cards, such as the 9800xt.rizzuh wrote..
Just so long as people with "CSnation go screw yourself." in their avatar / custom title can't win...
We're going to be giving away some sweet hardware during the month of July, so stay tuned!rizzuh wrote..

All is means is that you're not very bright. No worries, though, there are plenty more like you lurking in the comments. Stupid people can still have high self-esteem, so make the most of it.

Doom 3 will still run fine on an ATI card... it's just that nVidia tends to do better with OpenGL apps. Still, less and less is being developed under OpenGL (unfortunately), so as far as overall value goes, you'd be better off looking at DirectX9 performance.
Because there is no HL2 out yet, and they arn't support Doom3 thats Nivida.... And I don't think they want to look like ATI with the HL2 deal rofl :) So what better than to Give people the power of CS:CZ

Also ATI are rewriting their opengl icd, so you never know :) They have introduced several marked improvements this month, with more to come apparently.

Yeah I wasn't saying that ATI video cards were not going to run it, but I think you might be misstaken, that Doom 3 is running DX9.0 as its render, I might be misstanken, am I, feel free to correct me. I played the Doom3 Beta2 Leak thing from E3 (What suckers, ATI leaked it rofl), and its looks great with the X800 and the Nvidia cards. So yeah really, its all good.Comment
