ok well, he is mentioning that the european scene on gaming is that they dominate and the american scene on gaming is trying to keep up. read the whole article before you automatically say 'we think america is the center of the world.'

Although I agree with some of his analysis of the problems with CPL, this is extremely American biased. The reasoning he gave for all CPL events being in America is just hilarious. SK could probably move to America he said lol.

The Europeans are able to come to America twice each year and compete at the CPL. Unfortunately, this would not work backwards for American teams, as they would have to attend nine other events out of this country, which is clearly more difficult than what the Europeans would encounter.

Yes it would suck for America, but if you think of people other than yourself it would be quite obvious that this would be good for the majority of people.



This guys views is a perfect example of why Americans are unpopular around the rest of the world unfortunately.

the majority of people would be in the united states, the best players are in europe. you cant really say having it in different countries in europe is the same for euro players because it isnt. how many days does it take to drive across europe? how many days does it take to drive from the east coast to london? o wait...



not to defend voodoo because his logic is far from sound, but itd make more sense to have them in america for the tournament holders and fans.

There are more top American teams then there are top European teams. And the whole point was that even if you win an event, you're basically only covering travel expenses. American teams, who might have one bad random round (this is CS after all) and place out of the money, would simply be unable to attend these events, unless travel was covered by the CPL.

SK is the best team in the world and probably one of the few who are actually capable of making a real living by winning tournaments, simply because they win the majority of the time. So, seeing them move to America because the events are all here makes sense. All the top pro leagues (save soccer) are in America, and it's because we're the only country that can create a big enough fan base for these sports for the league to make a profit. We can pay all the top talent in the world to come here. When we can't, (again, look at soccer) our top players leave to play somewhere where they can make more money. An American goalkeeper just won the soccer championship in England. A Russian goaltender just won the Stanley Cup in Tampa Bay. It makes perfect sense for the top CS players to move here if they can make a living here. It's not just some blind "America is the best woo woo" statement.

Well perhaps I was mistaken, but from the coverage of the CPL I've watched the US only seemed to make up a fraction of the teams there. Perhaps because I only get get interested near the final stages.

It was his decision to leave Team 3D due to personal reasons, yet compLexity had offered him an offer (that is AFTER his "retirement" from 3D and gaming in general) which he couldn't refuse.

I'm in no way impressed by their supposed skill. I honestly feel that these kids in no way have a clue what life is like beyond CS. The CPL doesn't really draw that many people. Yes it pulls in a few, but in comparision some arena football team of some sucky league pulls in just as many people if not more.



Before I just go off the deep end and really rant. Go to school get your education. Get a real job. Your chances of success are much greater.

This article is from a spiteful little boy who is angry because he put so much time and effort into something and now he still has nothing worth showing for all his effort. He dosent mention that cs is nothing compared to the sports he wants it to be associated with. The sheer size of major sports outshadows esports 10,000 to 1; Therefore the same profits go into cs as that ratio. The micheal jordan of cs will still never be reconized on the streets of chicago.
