Amped Gaming News has reviewed a plethora of gaming mouse surfaces. From Corepad to Slicksteel, Amped has covered it all. One interesting mousepad Amped has decided to go over was a relatively unknown product entitled the Compad Speed Pad.

One thing that the Speed Pad has over all the previously presented pads, is its polymer surface providing gamers with a warm feeling rather then a cold one, and a precise, and movable pad. The manufacture says because of its unique surface it is less venerable to scratches then the steel and glass pads.

i have the best mousepad, its about 2 meters long and made of wood, my monitor also shares the same surface.



i refuse to believe that your skill can be defined by the surface of your mouse pad. simply perposterous

A mouse pad doesn't define skill, but I'm sure it will enhance it, depending on what you had before. My desk is getting a bit "frictiony," so I ordered a fUnc, and I should get it in a few days.



Can't wait tbh, because sometimes it's just hard to aim when there's a lot of friction.

use a little pledge furniture spray-polish on that desk top and you can toss out the mouse pad. i don't like using mouse pads at all. i run a very low sensitivity and need to move the mouse over a huge area of my desk top. i end up wearing down the little Teflon "feet" on the bottom of my mouse and the whole thing starts dragging.

pffft why use some simple furiture polish when you can spend 20+ dollars?

For all of you saying that a mouse pad can't increase your skill.... spill some pop all over your desk, let it dry so its nice and sticky, then try playing some cs. Get used to it, then claim its teh "1337est surface out there" and that it "didnt cost you a penny"... then wash it off and be amazed at how much easier it is to play. This is the difference between your average desk and a nice smooth made-for-optical-laser mouse pad. I've been using my Xide-Pad II for a while now, and since then i have experienced noticable improvement over using my desktop.



And those of you pissing your pants over a mere $20.... jesus christ. You'd probably turn around and spend three times that much just to see some titties at a bar.

A mousepad won't make you more skilled, it simply allows your skill to be shown over hindering factors such as a crappy mouse surface. I used my desktop for months before buying a cloth mousepad, loved the difference. I've gone through many many different mousepads, not in an attempt to make me better, but just out of preference. Refusing to believe that a smoother mouse surface will help you play better than a rough one is your choice, but it's also a pretty ignorant thing to believe/say/think/consider, and I'll ask you not say it again, I almost feel lightheadidly-stupid after reading your post.



I've stuck with my Rival pad for about a year now. It's the smoothest surface I've used, and it's about the same size as a supermat. Won it at a tournament. Steelpads are nice, too.

I find that I have to substitute mouse pads during fluctuations of temperature and humidity. When I first wake up in the morning, it's hella cold because I can't afford heating gas so I have to take one of my mousepads out of it's protective case and microwave it for 10 seconds. Playing with a cold mousepad is like playing with no hands. Around 1 PM, the temperature pics so I have to swap out my soft pad for my steel pad which I had machined polished. I also heat that up in the microwave to energize it with lightning. The shock it gives you when you touch it really wakes up the finger reflexes for some CS scrimming.
