Amped Gaming News has reviewed a lesson from E-Sports Entertainment Association. For those new to the whole ESEA scene, the said service caters to gamers looking for lesson sessions from professionals to hone his/her skills. Amped has written up their own review of ESEA, specifically with Mangiacapra from 4Kings, and here is a snippet of the action:

The criticism surrounding ESEA is usually to the tune of "why would you pay for a lesson" or "is it really worth it?". eSports is like any other activity - soccer, piano, sailing - if you want to get better at something, having someone with high knowledge of it personally guide you will help you excel the fastest. Will it make you a pro overnight? No. There are no words Marc could have said that will show me how to point my crosshair at an enemy or quicken my reflexes. But, he can teach me how the game is to be played at the highest level and be a smarter player - and open a path for me to quickly learn those techniques, and make myself a better player.

This review covers all aspects of what a typical lesson from ESEA has to offer and gives great insight overall. Should you be interested in a review, yet still quite have not made the jump to do so, this review may give you some assistance.

I keep practicing my jumping/bunny hopping (even though it isn't really bunny hopping) and I only manage a few jumps. Then I see people doing zig zags and I have no idea how to do it :x

paying for lessons is retarded, im pretty damn sure that nobody that is winning cpl ever payed for lessons. dont be a tool, learn like everybody else or somewhere down the line your gonna want your 30 dollars back, like when you want that new video card

lp|kane, the kid who co-owns ESEA, will not hesitate to screw you over - twice - and then ban you for all your effort in helping him. I put in 140 hours in a month adminning on ESEA servers, only to be given little to no compensation, absolutely NO thanks, and then I was banned by kane. Kane is a petulant, lying, two-faced rotten little bastard and don't you forget it. Remember who you're dealing with when you sign up for ESEA.



I won't lie. I had a great time at ESEA while I was there. Three months worth of no cheating on the servers, three months worth of 99% less whiners, hackers, newbies, morons, jackasses, racists, and any other problem plaguing CS. I had a great time adminning for them, too, but I was expecting some sort of thanks for all my effort.

Pretty much. I ordered a Icemat Black v2.0 and I still have yet to see anything about it. I ordered that back in April.

SyS7em and ukHazard, this is news to me. It was shipped out, and if you e-mail me or PM me on irc we can try to figure out why your orders weren't received (I am guessing they got lost in the mail). If you don't contact me with a problem, I don't know it exists, and obviously can't fix it :o



And as for Warchicken, unfortunately there was a miscommunication and it was decided that it would be best to go our seperate ways, but I thank him for his time and service.

I will say that torbull was helpful and pleasant throughout the whole thing. All unpleasantness and immaturity came from kane(and, to be fair, myself). Torbull was completely professional about the whole thing.



I found it very distressing when kane pm'ed me just to mock me.

Meaning if you've been playing for some time you probably will get little to nothing out of it. Save your money and just keep you computer at about par would be money well spent.

Actually, from all accounts, nearly everyone who purchased lesons from ESEA's instructors was very well pleased with them. I myself had a 30 minute lesson with goodfella - that was the 'little to no' compensation - and I did learn a great deal, considering it was only 30 minutes. They can teach you far more than you'd expect, no matter your experience. CS is indeed much like any other game, sport or hobby.

Guys basically you get what you pay for. Like they say (over and over) these arent going to make you a pro. however, they WILL give you some tiny things, such as spam points, bursting techniques. etc that you couldnt or maybe wouldnt have thought of on your own.



Usually this will be enough to give you an edge over your opponent, and THAT is a good deal.
