Strange a 300 LAN is the biggest yet for NY.. But explanation could be that the USA doesn't seem have the same 'big' LAN culture as several European countries.. Overhere in the Netherlands we also have several LANs that are 1000+ gamers aswell for many years now.. Next one is Netgamez 2004B (4-6 June), and I'll be there.. :)
Haha, nah, just seems to be a culture thing, really... most people around here seem content to play from home, if they play at all. Gun ownership is fairly high, but that's largely people who have a firearm in their home. Honestly, walking around you just don't tend to run into people that are carrying weapons. Mitsulan is the biggest :) http://www.mitsulan.com/ being hold by a guy from TW and if he pulls it off it will be the largest LAN in history. 5,000 gamers, 160,000 sq feet, 250,000$ in prizes. Being held in San Diego and costs 100$ to attend but 100$ is well worth it to see such an amzing thing. I'll be in Central US for a vacation then otherwise I'd go. As of right now it looks like it has no chance of happening but if enough register it will happen. I know the guy.
