    Steam Troubleshooter

Steampowered.com has updated with a new support troubleshooter. It has various solutions to many of the common problems people experience with Steam. So if you can't figure out why a server keeps telling you, "You have been banned for past cheating violations", then this is for you!

Sorry to rain on your parade, but it's not much. It nearly standard practice in most programs (troubleshooters that is :p).

Looking over it, it appears completely useless for everyone that's pre-Steam.

Bah, doesn't help with my problem. When Steam loads, it always stops at 26%.

try logging in as the administrator in windows, if thats not working look for a program that blocks steam from overwriting itself. OR ask a friend for a fresh steam.exe and platform.gcf.

GJ Valve. SOP for other companies but at least you're catching up.

I checked it and saw a couple things that I might use to tweak my game a bit (especially with putting +voice_dsound 0 in the command line...something similar is in my userconfig but didn't think about command line).

I put my problem in, and it sent me an email telling me to delete masterserver.vdf files, all my config files, clientregistry.blob files etc. which is utter bs because what do those have to do with the reload animations showing when they're not supposed to in CS?

I don't suppose you tried it?

No, I'm not deleting my configs because there's nothing wrong with them, and the problem has nothing to do with servers.
