Cliffe said it, so he must be right. My mistake.

Still though, I thought you had to sign in to get access to any of the Steam games, and to sign in, you had to register with a CD key...?

40MB in three minutes...guess Valve's Asian content servers have gotten better or more numerous since the official Steam launch. This makes me much more confident about getting HL2/CS:S from them, although I guess we'll see on release day.

Lay off the crack, kid. And nothing IS free in this world. Codename "Gordon" is only available to consumers who have purchased a HL product.
Even if this wasn't free, America's Army is still a free recruitment tool, er, um, I mean game. Regardless, yeah, it's free.

Looks like there are 11 content servers in Asia at the moment, which is more than Europe, and second only to North America.

Nah, you can use the dedicated server via Steam w/o a valid CD key.

*sigh* the HL-Radio guys are pretty bad about their assumptions. They were trying to claim that Codename Gordon was going to be released when HL2 was, instead of after most of us have cached it already. They did the same thing with CS:CZ, you can pre-load it, but you can't actually play it until they "flipped the switch" so to speak.

Nice enough show, but not the most informed guys in the community, for sure. Also, Nathan's voice has a slight southern twinge to it, it would seem. :)

When Duke Nukem Forever was delayed (Release Date: When it's ready)

They released a Side Scrolling Shoot 'em up: Manhattan Project.

Half Life 2 gets delayed and they release a Side Scrolling Shoot 'em up.

I'll leave you to dwell on the similarities.

                    j/k

Codename Gordon has been in the works for awhile if memory serves me correctly. I think it was being done by a 3rd party that was huge fans of HL and decided to make a side scroller, last I knew they were waiting to hear from valve, looks like they did :)

Manhatten Project was brilliant - I bought a gamepad (Saitek S880 is an EXCELLENT pad) just to play it.

Ok, it's no where near the life-changing status I attribute to Half-Life, but it's a blast, lots of fun, entertaining, and different. Very well made too - simple yet polished. That's how games should be.

                          C:G had better support gamepads...

                          (or is it 'joypad'?)

Codename isnt made by valve. But the creators said valve (gabe specifically) liked it so much he got it on steam.

They will also release it as a free download.

codename gordon is made in flash so it will be intresting to see how it compares to more traditional platformers which use C++ and the like.
