  • Counter-Server Looking For News Writers

Counter-Server is currently looking for proficient writers that "have a good eye for a tasty story". For those that feel he/she is not familiar in the whole server scene should not fret. It has been stated that being knowledgeable in the stated field or being an experienced technical person is not mandatory. Good luck to those that apply and here is a link for the entire scoop.

My questions for an interview with Narby and DaveJ...

1 - At least one of maps has become more popular and more well known than Jesus Christ. When you sat down and made de_aztec or de_inferno (for Narby) or de_dust2 or de_dust (for DaveJ) did you expect the maps to become as popular they are?

2 - How long do you play test each map and under which conditions? Do you set up a server in a lanhouse with a dozen friends, load up the map and just watch them bang around?

3 - Narby, the changes to de_aztec and de_inferno (for CS 1.6) were, in my humble opinion, great. How did you come to the conclusion that the maps needed a change? Narby's answer to the space between the blocks at the T end of the bridge is well known, but what about the bridge itself or the corridor from bomb A in de_inferno?

DaveJ, how did you reason that de_cbble needed the changes and why doesn't de_dust need any despite the known bugs?

4 - DaveJ and Narby, both of you participate in public Counter-strike forums, do the users (us) have anything good to contribute to your maps or is the noise to signal ratio so high that you prefer asking the pros (or your close buddys) what they think?

5 - What are your maps that you really liked and poured a lot of heart into but never made it to de_aztec or de_dust2 status? For those of us that don't like that map, why should we reconsider our opinions?

6 - What maps do you like to play in? You can be as biased as you want, but your reasons for liking it would really be nice.

7 - AWP or Colt/AK? USP or Glock?
