    elemeNt Interviews

Sick and tired with the whole deal on elemeNt these past couple of days? Of course you're not! So that is why the following interviews with Mr. Moum have been packaged in a convenient newsbits-styled list.
    • noa has interviewed element shortly after his departure from sk. some general questions have been asked, but it is a nice read to take a glance at regardless.

    • sogamed, with all their so-gamed-ness, has done an interview with ola prior to the whole deal with sk and noa. the reply to a question that addresses his contract between sk and the roster of noa is very interesting. click here for the interview.

    • gotfrag conducted their very own interview with the one and only element. in this particular interview, it has sectioned off his feelings between noa and sk, where you may check it here.
    Thank me later, fine sir/fox.

Exactly what legal action can SK do to threaten ElemeNt for leaving? Just curious. I'd like to see how it holds up in court. The judge will be laughing his ass off. I would too, if someone sued me for pressing the ~ button and typing "Name NoA|ElemeNt".

it doesn't matter what team he is on. He can join any team he wants. But whats in the contract is that he can NOT play with any other team until his contract is up. ( i guess unless they aprove it or something snice he puged a lan like last month with some of his old clanmates and won ) Also he did sign it and his legal gaurdian.

If you get paid according to a contract to type name "SK.swe ElemeNt" then maybe you'll see the point.

p.s. I hope everything works out fine for all parties. It's obvious that element will be much happier with NoA, and I wish the best of luck to him.

If he can play CPL Summer 2004, then NoA winnig!

i seriously doubt "bds" is a legal expert, and element might be able to get away with it if the contract contained a lot of exclusion clauses and other "unreasonable" parts.

Depends on what is in the contract.. I would guess he's not allowed to play for any other teams in pro-tournaments before the contract ends or face a fine, that kind of stuff.. You probably won't be laughing your ass off if you have to pay much $$$ as a result of breaking a contract.. Even if it's only about playing a computer game, a contract is a contract...

Don't get me wrong, I see the whole legal implications aspect and all that stuff, but there's something about this drama in the pro CS scene that has to make me laugh. :)

Either way, it certainly illustrates the point that "pro CS" as a paid job is certainly a concept that is still in its infancy, and has a lot of wrinkles to be ironed out, if it makes it that far.

No, you see, I was stating the humor of this whole situation. A court case about computer gamers changing their CS names is as wacky as a court case about the coca cola mascot having sex with dolphins, something I hope I never EVER see.

This isn't about names, this is about someone having a contract to perform a service and they didn't live up to their end of the bargain. It's as simple as that. Whether it's CS or not is unimportant, what is important is that he signed a legal document and his actions breach that contract. The guy has even said several times that he doesn't care what team he plays for, he's just an opportunist. If I were a pro team out there when he leaves NOA I'd stay away from him like aids on toast, nothing like teammates you can't count on.
