I'm actually happy about this patch. This is at least what I was expecting from CS:CZ, AT RELEASE TIME. It's too bad it took an extra month, but on the brighter side, at least it didn't take longer. =)

Edit: I don't own CZ but I believe that Deleted Scenes runs without Steam when bought as a CD, correct me if I'm wrong. This isn't really relevant though because this patch applies to the single player bot mode.
No, you have to download Deleted Scenes through Steam to run it, but you can play normal (i guess you can call it that) CZ without Steam if you buy the CD (and without, or so I've heard).

And also, for anyone curious, the CZ discs are horrid looking. Half white half neon green on one, half white and half dark-ish blue on the other. But the HL2 preview cd is awesome.

What's on that? I nearly bought CZ in the shop instead of Steam to get it. New stuff or the same movies they already released?

im waiting for someone to reverse engineer CZ so that all the content can be ported over to CS 1.5

            anyone working on this?

Hmm...I think that'll be prety good considering I'm a '1.5 against bots player' (I only play 1.6 at a net cafe) but I doubt that anyone else would really enjoy such a game. And when you think about it, you wouldnt be porting the CZ content over to 1.5, but rather to the older WON-based Half-Life launcher (1.1.1.0) as a new mod because it won't be compatible with existing 1.5 content. I think what would be cooler would be replacing the enemies/weapons in Opposing Force with the enemies/weapons of CZ/CS 1.6, a bit like the existing Counter-Life. I would work on such a thing myself if I had the time, but it would only be for personal use :P .

Edit: Oh yea and thanks ma_cherie for clarifying that.

                  can u say publicity stunt?

this "update" has obviously been around for a while. valve has released this as an attempt to look like they are really updating it, when infact they just released CZ taking bits out with the intention of adding them later as an "update that weve all been waiting for".

                  its all a marketing scam.

Do you have to be so cynical? They probably just hadn't finished the stuff they are including in the update at the time of CZ's release. it's likely considering Turtle Rock pretty much started from scratch and they managed to get it released in a relatively short amount of time.

you can get the models from a disc install if you bought the game offline, i believe. Yes, i'm one of the suckers who bought the discs, i just liek to have a backup in case something goes wrong.

You are correct, but unfortunately after examining the models with HL Model Viewer 1.25, they don't have the correct animations... Seems they are made as "bots" for the CZ Deleted Scenes content, I couldn't find any newer models anywhere in the CS:CZ installation that will work with the default animations used for the regular CS model animations.(this is before I updated it to Steam btw, using a CD install ;^p ) I had planned to upgrade the default CS models within the CS:CZ install using those new models(ole copy and paste) but with no luck. We will have to wait on Valve to update the models sometime this week before anyone can get some updated models to use them for CS; even then, good luck getting them. ;^p

That's not right. If you buy CS:CZ retail (in a store, not through Steam), you can play both Tour Of Duty and Deleted Scenes without being online.

From what my friend (who is an HL2 fiend) has told me, there is one new movie on it. Here are the track listings (i guess you could call them tracks) of the disc. Bold one being the one he said was new.

                              1. G-Man

                              2. Docks

                              3. Kleiner's Lab

                              4. Traptown

                              5. Tunnels

                              6. Barricade

                              7. Bugbait

                              8. Coastline

                              9. Striders

                              10. Psyche

I never said you couldn't play Tour of Duty offline. And no you can't play Deleted Scenes without downloading it from Steam first. Yes, you can play it offline afterwards, but you have to download it from Steam. I bought CZ in-store, not from Steam. Even when I installed CZ from the discs (didn't have steam installed prior, mind you) the menu of CZ even has "Play Condition Zero online with Steam" or "via Steam" or whatever. I had to install Steam and then download Deleted Scenes, Counter-Strike, and some stuff for CZ.

Edit: Also, peagle, if "Psyche" is new, you aren't missing anything. I just watched it, it starts off as if you're going through a tunnel of weird things (not weird as in alien weird, but it shows like programming stuff, weird flashy lines and equasions and weird crap like that) and then goes to the face of the G-Man. Once it goes to him, he says "Well, well, isn't this just like (5 second pause) old times?" and then it shows the Half-Life 2 logo and ends.

Would be nice if Valve released that new movie to those of us who bought CZ, over steam.
