Nice, nice...Finally cz has some value. I just didn't expect Valve will listen to their fans.

It's disappointing they didn't think of this earlier.

What in the hell is out of the box, are you going to go re-buy it or something... ideot the game only works with steam I bet and you prolly have to login to steam to play online, DUR, and when you do you get the update... DUH!
I think what he's trying to say is that he hasn't bought CZ yet, and is asking whether new copies of the game on CD-Rom will have the patch(es) included. A bit like how Half-Life Game of the Year Edition was patched up to 1.1.0.6 (or something like that). I guess it probably wont be, simply because Valve would much rather have people buy their games through Steam, or so it seems anyway. And why have everything out of the box. You could never buy Counter-Strike retail patched up to CS 1.5 so you should be used to patching things up by now.

Edit: I don't own CZ but I believe that Deleted Scenes runs without Steam when bought as a CD, correct me if I'm wrong. This isn't really relevant though because this patch applies to the single player bot mode.

if they dont plan on implementing the ritual player animations i do hope they make the proper transitions when converting the ritual models onto default animations. as im sure they are aware (i sure hope they are) there are differences in the skeletons which cause problems in just a quick conversion. the most prominent problems being "floppy" feet and deformed hands. judging by the pic, this is the case. if you look carefully you can see the gsg9s hand has one finger stubb sticking up, while the rest are jutting out. heres a larger pic with what i mean

              close up of gsg9 glitch

if you compare the 2 shots you will see the hand positions are identical. there are many more deformations one will notice over time, but this and the floppy feet are the most visible. mind you this is is easily fixable with a little bit of time and effort.. of course this is how it should look

close up of gsg9 hand fixed

id be glad to do it for them but then again they probably wouldnt let me.. lets just keep our fingers crossed that they correctly convert them by the time the patch comes out

Praise to Valve for trying to redeem itself I suppose.

Thanks PhilDEE, yes, that's what I meant. =)

And damn, I hate how Valve uses Steam as a crutch now. It's like out-of-the-box stability and completeness doesn't matter anymore, because stuff can be downloaded over Steam at a later date!

That's not how it's supposed to be....

Something to silence all of the whiners. Maybe now they will realize CZ can be changed just as much as CS has changed since retail version 1.0, a process made much easier through Steam.

This sounds awesome, I bet some people will make some amazing missions.

Will csnation start reviewing cs:cz missions maybe?

if it doesnt review maps then it probably wont review missions either.... just because theyll be so many of them.

too late... i already gave up on CZ.... way too damn easy as it is, if CSN starts reviewing maps, missions, and shizzles of the sort i might come back to CZ when my FarCry and Ut2004 stop working somehow

                                I have a dream :
                                CZ 1.4 updates :

                                * Source Engine (HL2 engine) for CZ

                                * Realistic physics (ragdoll effect, etc)

                                * 15 new maps, with driveable vehicles and a lot of NPC (like GTA 3).

                                * 15 new weapons, with a lot of destroyable map parts.
                                Yeh.. it's only MY dream..
