It's time, once again, for the CS-Nation mailbag! This edition's topic: What do you think of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero? We have all types of opinions, including this one:

Aside from the price, I see nothing wrong with CS:CZ. It will help out most of the newbies out there trying to get into CS. And for the vets, it's just a little something to do offline.



I know my modem breaks down once in awhile or I'm really laggy, and I always yearned for some sort of offline CS experience.

The new maps and updates to pre-existing ones are impressive if you rememeber that we are dealing with a 6 year old engine here.

I would like to fix this error up, The engine itself was originally created by ID software for quake 1 in 1996. There is also a bit of quake 2 engine which i believe dealed with lightning. So technically the engine is about 7-8 years old. Don't forget though Valves version is heavily modified, but look at how much work they did to an old quake 1 engine.

Yep... Oh wait, here's an idea! Instead of using that super old engine, delay the game, and move it to the HL2 engine, and call it CS2! I'm brilliant.

Valve is a strong believer in selling games past their sell-by date.

Gotta love that "silvablade" dude. OMG IM GETTING LAG IN A SP GAME~11`1. Of course, he uses an AMD and wonders why he doesn't have problems in something, so he can't be that smart.

The updated maps are pretty damn good, in fact, I think Valve should remake the rest of the original maps and release a pack. The updated maps, however, are not worth the $30 price tag, and neither is the action. The bots aren't that great and there is no Terrorist SP missions, which, IMO, was a huge mistake on the part of Valve and Turtle Rock Studios.



The Deleted Scenes are pretty good, but the enemies are pretty stupid and once again, no Terrorist SP missions, but whatever.



Valve is making a huge mistake by not offering the Ritual models as an optional update to CS 1.6 and CZ. Valve should also add the Spetznaz and Militia groups to CS 1.6 / CZ as well. Valve should also consider adding the M-60 Machine Gun because the Para is so lonely



If Valve releases an update adding Terrorist SP missions to CZ and updates the rest of the maps, I will buy Condition Zero.

Seems that people think the price is crap, the multiplayerbots are good and the deleted scenes seems unfinished.

Wow i should hunt you down and decapitate you you intel suckup... AMD > Intel Anyday...



AMD processors use less cycles but have more power than a pentium pos processor. AMD 1.8ghz is better than a pentium 4 2.5... i have tested many diferent processors, overclocked amds and overclocked pentiums... amd processors always win out in graphics and pc benchmarking... Take your head out of your ass man!

After purchasing it, I have to say, it needed a bit more work. Watching the bots play in first person mode is a bit laughable at times, but overall, I'm surprised but how well they work sometimes.



They should've included the Gearbox missions and models, etc as well. The more content thrown in, the better. At least it would've felt like we would've gotten our money's worth.



2 things that should've been included though was a Co-Op mode and being able to play as a Terrorist. It shouldn't be just about being able to play as a CT, rescue hostages, defuse bomb, kill Ts, that gets a bit repetitive...
