    Gearbox Hiring

Gearbox Software has recently opened up 3, yes three, available positions. If you have what it takes to be the next 2D Texture Artist, General 3D Artist, or Multiplayer Level Designer for Gearbox (my sources say they have created some game containing CTs and Ts running around with guns and such), you may want to take the opportunity and check this out right away. If you cannot contain yourself, send your resume to gamejobs@gearboxsoftware.com. Good luck!

If anyone is thinking of applying - do it! They live in a nice part of Plano, Texas (well, they did for the brief period I visited them years ago), and have a VERY well-ventilated building.

Oh, add to that some really cool peeps working there... highly recommended.

I think they did a good jod with Halo, but it's sad, cuz they have to get permission from Microsoft and Bungie before they can patch it, and with Halo 2, that can take a looong time. But this new game shouldt have this problem, cuz it seems they are makeing it all themselves, for once, they can be the boss.

                I agree with George.

tbh I don't know why the Gearbox CZ was scrapped. It looked good, and I'm sure it would have been loads better than Ritual's.

Ritual's is an utter piece of crap, but not as bad as Turtle Rock's Single Player.

It's about time they had a game to show off what they're caperble of. I look forward to it, they're a damn fine group of people.

I have to disagree... Making a story-led mission-based game out of what was designed as a multiplayer game is very difficult, particularly with CS. But Ritual did a great job - I completed it the other day and enjoyed it immensely!

You have to remember that Ritual are used to much more powerful engines and different game architectures than HL. Looking past the tech, you have to congratulate them.

And for once I'm not being sycophantic. I really did enjoy it.

Let's be honest here, it was way too easy. I do admit Ritual's DS were better than TR's SP but I'm still not going to say either one was good.

Although, I did not know any of that of which you just told me. Now knowing that, I guess I can congratulate them, but I'm still not going to say their attempt was very good. It was descent.
