SMB3 gets my vote although the best mario game to date = Super Mario World.

Just because super mario brothers is a classic doesnt mean it was fun. Games like the Zelda Series were way better. Seriously, its a JUMPING game, that's your only skill (Other than those little fireballs). I dont see how that could be better than a revolutionary single player game that featured a whole new engine and set the standards for first person shooters everywhere.

kinda unfair matchup really as its aimed at computers geeks who all know what half-life is. i bet if u asked most of the public they would have heard of smb3 more than half-life and it would get a higher percentage.

They did a remake for SMB3 for GBA...it's the exact same game, definately worth buying if you own a GBA....and I voted for HL. It got me into gaming, it was my gateway drug...

Sucks that this contest went from fair to "who signed up for gamespy to play cs". Anyone in their right mind wouldn't sign up for gamespy if they didn't have to. Gamespy poll = 1 sided now.

i've played half-life and it isn't very fun. it's kind of boring actually. i found cs to be 10x as interesting.

Look at the brackets and realize how bad of joke this really was.



In no way should Metroid Prime and Super Metroid meet in the 1st round. Both are part of a stand out series, but removed by 8 years. This would have been better to have in the same division, but as a possible second or third round match.



Same with Final Fantasy VII and Crono Trigger.



At least they got Tie Fighter vs Mech warrior 2 right and had a good second round between Starcraft and Warcraft3.



As for the final round I couldn't really care, but since this is a grudge match and I hold grudges for a long time. HL gets my vote as I still resent how kids held down Final Fantasy from being the top game by jerking off over Mario 3.
