Yes, likewise they're MiG's (notice little i), and they'd be more likely to fire something like old AIM-9L Sidewinder heat seeking missiles or something, if you really want to use exported American weapons technology. Either that, or just grab some random Russian heat seeker, like the AA-8 Aphid or something, and claim they're using those.
Hellfire missiles are laser-guided anti-tank (air to ground) weapons, not heat seeking air-to-air. Yes, they're commonly on Apaches, but not relevant in this case. Try something like the AIM-9M Sidewinders if you're wanting a good all-aspect IR guided missile.
Tomahawks are cruise missiles, so you could mention that name if you wanted to near the end when the buggies are getting destroyed.
As far as the bullets, really .50 caliber rifles aren't practical weapons for taking out people... a 7.62x51mm sniper rifle like the M24 or Steyr Scout, or even something like a .338 Lapua Magnum AW SM (like the AWP in CS) would be much more appropriate. Also, while the .50 cal is loaded with a cartridge that's roughly 5" long, the bullet itself is something closer to 2" in length, and the rest is just powder.
In the end though, all of this is all the kind of little stuff that a talented editor would bring to this series. It's a good read still, but yes, flu1d, I'd recommend you find someone to proof-read your stuff. :)
