Minor Steam Update

A very small Steam update was released last night and includes a fix for Condition Zero servers and connection problems.

• allow counter-strike: condition zero to run as a dedicated server under windows
  
  
• prevent the "connection to server lost due to level change" error

Not much here to get all steamed about, but good fixes nonetheless. You can catch the update list in it's entirety over at the Steam website.

Minor Steam Update

Due to a number of people running into errors from an earlier update, Valve has released another small update.

A small update has just been released which will correct a Source engine DirectX configuration problem. The DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime from Microsoft is required. When launching a Source engine game on Steam, users who don't have this latest version of DirectX will be directed to this page to get the installer.

Basically, if you can't start up Half-Life 2 or any of the official mods, make sure your DirectX is up to date. Oh yeah, and Day of Defeat: Source is about two hours away!

Can someone help me understand how CZ online is like? is it like normal cs with missions or something?

Its the same as 1.6, it is 1.6 multiplayer. You just get some new maps to play with.

So CZ is downloadable in the US but if you get it in stores it's out on the 29th?

get with the program

- cz can play with cz owners and 1.6 users, so long as the map is w/o the _cz ending. all it is is a 1.6 multiplayer, with added maps. thats ALL IT IS (as ive said many, many x 10^99 times).

- the rocket launcher was taken out of the actual game years ago, think of it this way, can u use that weapon in 1.6, since all it is is 1.6? no you can't. so, no you can't. you can however play it in the addition dl of the deleted portion of the ritual version, but that blows too.
