Recon of Cyber X Games Statement

Chris Hill from the now infamous Cyber X Games, also known as Recon, has spoken out on his general feelings on the whole incident that took place at Las Vegas on January 8th-11th this year. The following is an excerpt:
Now most of you hate me and I relize why. Things went wrong and certain companies didn't do what they promised for us(CXG). This caused total break down of CXG. I also take into heart the amount of money and time people wasted perparing for CXG and coming to Las Vegas. It was hard on the community and hard on the players to recover from such a dissapointing lan. I personally feel that things were set up correctly and professionaly. It took one minor thing to knock it all off track. Well this is why I am writing. I want to apologize for any part of CXG that went wrong on my part. I have been running it through my head for a little over 6 months now and I feel horrible that things didn't go as promised.
Essentially, this is an apologetic letter to the community of sorts, where reimbursement nor prize money information are given. However, Chris Hill did have some say:
First off the attendence was extremly low and the sponsors were very unhappy. Most decided not to pay the remainder of their balance to CXG inc. This caused a huge dent in CXG's budget and I do know that law suits are being handled with CXG and some of those sponsors. I do not work for CXG any longer nor do I get any information. This is all I know about your prize money and your promised travel money.
For Recon's post in it's complete format, you may head down over through this link and read it for yourself.

    CXG = Big Fuckup

I gotta say, it isn't any one person/company's fault. The people that attended should get what they were promised.

What a surprise! Recon's statement contains the usual abhorrent spelling we have come to expect from him.

Is it really that hard to give what he writes to someone with at least an inkling of the English language before releasing it?

You would think even spell check would pick up on "relize".

        Grr.."relize" is not a word.

The world would be much better if everyone were like me. :)

I personally would have liked to have another league like the CPL. :[

At the very least, I can take consolation in the fact that at least it wasn't someone intelligent and capable who screwed up. That would probably make the fiasco all the more worst in retrospect.

CXG screwing up didn't exactly shock and surprise most people. What has happened was expected - after judging recon's previous track record.

He said he's been thinking about it for the past six months? It's only been two...or did I misread?

Sigh... Is he still blaming VALVe again? I still don't see how VALVe can be responsible for screwing up the OTHER games like Warcraft III and Return to Castle Wolfenstein? Unless he meant "certain companies," as in more than just VALVe. I feel sorry for those volunteers who tried to salvage the event, but the officials still decided to kill their own event.

as usual, CXG wishes to avoid blame..

and guess who was right about the sponsers not being happy

his name starts with Game and ends with Shot911. =D

"I want to go to LAN's and not feel like people are hating on me cause of a failure lan event."

Cause? This does not sound like a person who should be in charge of such a large lan event; a 23 year old man who makes our president sound like Ben Stein.

This event was a failure due to many people but pushing the blame to someone does nothing to remedy the situation.

I dont see what this apology was supposed to accomplish, because it brings no resolution or conclusions to anything relevant at all.

your right, the sponsors weren't happy, and can you blame them, they spent enough money to get booths at CXG when CES was right around the corner, they were promised a good amount of foot traffic because there was going to be so many people at this lan, i'll tell you with my own eyes there was not more than 200 people at this lan. I went all the way to vegas for a 200 person lan when they have one local to me every 3 months lol. Definately not the sponsors fault cause they lost a ton of money aswell due to theft and everything which he failed to mention, i know shuttle had a bunch of stuff jacked etc etc.

This really says it all. How someone who could make those statements back to back would be allowed to organise even a neighborhood LAN is beyond me.

They should just blame valve again "Steam is Evil, it's all VALVE's fault , thank you" I don't think anyone will accept an apology from what I read took place at this event.
