i think it`s a good option for suckers like me who have to spend their lives in Germany and hate the censorship that is due withing Germany ( no blood, ppl sit FRICKIN` DOWN AND SHAKE THEIR HEADS WHEN THEY`RE DEAD ). No no no. If i had to play this stuff i`d rather quit cs.



Plus, most German game translation suck with a few exceptions ( DeusEx2 seems to be pretty good )

i want 2 vent some STEAM i am repeatedly getting a



"server verification error"



on some servers that i used 2 be able 2 use fine b4 this big update



also my account validation e-mail stll has not arrived



Oh well i guess it will all be sorted with another update in a few days

Maybe... just maybe... those servers haven't been shut down and allowed to update yet. Any steam related server verification errors that were client side errors I've been able to fix merely by rebooting or deleting the clientregistry blobfile.

We've been making some changes to the content servers today to accelerate this recovery, and we expect conditions to improve quite a bit by tomorrow morning.

Steam Network is down as of 12:20 PM EST.

Yeah I remember, but at least you knew it was coming out and could still connect to play to servers running your current version. THIS SUCKS!! The 1 day I have to do absolutly nothing but play cs and I can't. oh well....Guess I'll play something else. I'm sure valve will be happy about that!! 8)

Well as for load being better it was this morning 9am GMT (UK) looks like the USA woke up and broke it cos cant get naff all on steam now except offline mode

Same. I did the survey around 11 this morning, so it was up then. I came home around 4 ish, and its been dead since (for me anyway). Hope everyone else has better luck

agreed. violence censorship here in germany has become really tight since that Steinhaeuser incident...

You guys... Steam was fine late last night, during non peak hours. If you're wondering why it's sluggish again today, it's because the same huge flood of people who tried to get the update yesterday (again at peak hours) and failed are simply trying yet again.



If you're east coast, wake up way early, or if you're west coast, stay up way late, and you'll be able to get a spot on the servers without all the congestion.



You know what the sad part is? Most of you are going to be fighting this kind of traffic the rest of your lives as you make your daily commute to work. Then you'll probably be bitching at the highway commission for not building more lanes in whatever roads you have to use. There's a lot of waiting in lines involved in life, and you don't instantly get everything you want when you want it... might as well get used to that fact now.

What a great point...i remember it far too well..from the days of 1.3 and before it was a complete bitch to get cs patches....it took forever...there were barely any mirrors if theyre were everyone used the same ones and it was like at least a 100mb patch...be greatful that you can even think about getting cs updates the same day they come out and not weeks later...steam is relatively new and valve is still getting the hang of it so just chill out and all will be good
