Yeah, I really hope this means I won't have to use XFire anymore.

What I don't understand is why friends needs maintenance all the time, but yet other chat programs like AIM basically never go down.

aim has been around for a very long time, so aol had time to iron out the bugs. maybe in the future we'll be seeing im exploits that crashes your steam through the friends server.

Wish they'd throw in some support for those on a router with multiple people trying to play. Until they fix that, I think Friends works fine. But Valve always has liked to fix what isn't broken. Oh well, I still play.

i love how they brag about the massive amount of players using valve's software at any given time, but then valve goes and "releases" steam so prematurely. i defended steam back in beta, cus it seemes like such an inovation, but when i missed a match because steam would not start, so i have lost any trust in valve as a company. they need to fix the goddamned hitboxes, release a game on time, fix steam buddy list, and update para. sheeeeeeesh, the only reason i still read this page daily is cus im waiting for these updates >_<

                          Well as for:

                          1. fix the goddamned hit boxes

                          Didn't know they were broken.

                          2. release a game on time

It'll be a cold day in...yea well its not going to happen. Most games are never released on their first release date. I'll admit though that Valve is alot worse about this than most developers.

                          3. fix steam buddy list

I have no idea what your talking about. BUt they are updating Friends so..yea.

                          4. update para

                          Eh?

Yea...AIM hardly ever as problems. But like RealoRc, they had plenty of time to get it bug free.

Conclusion: Valve is doing an excellent job.
