Shut down your Steam client, delete your "ClientRegistry.blob" file in your main Steam folder and restart Steam.

That and single player games like Half Life can be played without being connected to the internet.

Id say the survey will be along the lines of the survey in 1.1.0.8 HL patch. It was a quick automated survey that valve supposedly used to see what their audience for HL2 was using. Who knows though. Still, offline steam! About time an all, well done valve.

Can't wait for offline play, even though I don't play offline.

                    I have broadband :P

Just can't wait anyway. Been a long time since a big Steam update.

Wow, offline play, that's been a standard feature in games since....network games were invented! Also, in case you didn't read the fuck'n whole post, you STILL HAVE TO VERIFY VIA E-MAIL, so if you don't have an internet connection, your still fucked. So it still takes them months on end to fix anything, how in gods name are they going to produce entire games? They should have just bought the doom 3 engine and spent their time making content, instead we'll end up with some halfbaked sequel. I always loved video games because it's the only medium where sequels are better, well, looks like that truth in my life is finally gone.

Offline play should have came out a long time ago. But its nice to see they aren't eating their doughnuts and working for once.

As for buying a game through Steam...yea I see that as a big joke. What happens when/if Valve just "Ups and leaves" one day and your left with a one time install of a game. Better hope you dont' have to format.

BTW who would buy something from Steam? Does anybody honestly trust it enough?

Wouldnt CS 1.7 be released prior to the CZ release??? Thats what i read about.

Which is basically the offline play - bug fixes and HLDS engine fixes
