After almost 3 years in the making, Vivendi Universal Games announced today that Counter-Strike: Condition Zero will be available worldwide on March 23, 2004. CS:CZ will retail for around $39.99 USD and can be purchased through traditional methods or downloaded entirely through Steam. I willing to believe that % is true considering how popular CS has gotten. but when CZ is released in UK, if it's any more than £29.99 then I aint buying it till it drops because I aint paying full price for retextured maps and bot support which I wont use anyway.
I wonder what Valve's method of copy protection will be for CZ? I mean do we get another CD key we need to enter into steam to alow us to play CZ? or do we just need a working HL CD key?Comment

I would, but I've never liked Steam from the second I downloaded it. I'm also I person who likes to look on the shelf and admire his collection of games. I cant do that if I download them over Steam.Comment

good point punk, unless there is some kind of excise tax or international fee/restriction built into steam, it's bad news for british retailers..
steam is yet another harbinger of the global economies doom to local distribution. actually, good riddence, i hate the idiot staff who populate game shops.
EDIT: Andeh, I seem to remember Gabe suggesting that you would also be able to get ahold of a box (mail away) if you so desired and purchase over steam. As I remember it was in response to "what happens if I want HL2 deluxe limited, but want to buy over steam?"Comment
