CZ First Impressions

Planet Half-Life has at last their very own take on Condition Zero, and what is to come very shortly in the near future. Along with CS-Nation, PHL has also acquired an official copy of Vivendi's CZ. Although nothing revolutionary or significant has been mentioned in this preview of sorts, this is a great sign of CZ being finally released!

Are the bots any good? Yeah, they are. Sure, there's no way AI can compare to actual human players, but even on lower skill settings, the bots still managed to put up quite a fight and surprised me with their tactics a couple of times. Actually, my biggest complaint about this mode so far is the names of the Counter-Terrorist bots you get to pick as teammates

The crew over at Planet Half-Life promises to have a more elaborate preview shortly, but you may check out what they have to say on CZ for now. Remember to also sound off in the official CSN forums!

I find it kinda funny how that one British PC magazine released a review for the game in September, and know its being released now! I wonder if the guys who made that review feel really stupid for reveiwing an incredibly unfinished product? (I'm not saying that the version of the game they played was really "unfinished," but turtlerock must of done something different in all this time after the review!)

seems pretty pointless for us online only players to buy the game, its just single player missions. I dont care for single player. CS is a multiplayer game and should remain that way.

i would agree with you, i'm not a single player gamer, but some games i'm hooked on for single player (strategic games mostly). although some single player games seem boring without people playing with you, but just give cs:cz a chance before you judge it or contemplate it's failure in the future

this is actually how it should have been all along...no promises..no updates on the progress of the game...just an "oh by the way were making a single player version of cs"...then years later *BAM* they hit us with it...and everyone is caught off guard...like u when u wake up next to michael jackson after a yager binge the night before

i dont think anyone expects cz to be revoultionary and indeed it wont for that is not its purpose...but i do believe it will be FUN and in the end isnt that all that matters...i mean after all why is it that u play cs...its gotta be that u get some enjoyment out of it...granted everyone will not like the game....but if u expect it to just be fun then im sure you will enjoy your cz experience...i know i will..cause ultimately thats all i want out of any game

IIRC that British review was of the Ritual version (which it totally flamed) and supposedly is what lead to Turtle Rock being selected to re-re-redo the game.

The strategy guides have been out ever since Counter-Strike came out for Xbox.

i recon thats all it is now, CSX but imported to the PC, basiclly Halo (was going to be on the PC first then nope we will spend ages doing for XBOX (because MS bought Bungie out) then just before Halo2 comes out we will release it on the PC)
