Hold your horses, sir. Vivendi has had the ***GOLD MASTER COPY*** of CZ since November. Since then, it's been out of Valve's hands. I wasn't referring to the whole sordid history of the game's development. If I was doing that, I'd have blamed Gearbox and Ritual first. Nyah!
Why are you blaming Vivendi when it's Sierra and VALVe's fault? Vivendi has hardly anything to do with those two other than owning 51%+ of the companies.Comment

Is CSnation going to give us impressions on it? I'm interested just to see if they listened to the fans and added anything new between the time it went gold 4 months ago and now.
What will be really funny is if they charge $40 for this-- I like CS but honestly for what their selling I can't see it as being worth more than 20 bucks.Comment

I've been playing CS for free, for what,, 3 years almost now? I'll buy this game when it eventually comes out just for that simple fact. I mean, it would have to get the worst reviews ever for me not to buy it. Other then that, if I see it at the store, or its available through Steam, Ill gladly purchase it, even if its a mediocre game.
Reason being, I love CS, and have been playing it for the longest time for free. I'll gladly support the product because I'd like for there to be more CS related products (cs2 please) in the future. If nobody buys the game, why would they ever make any other versions.
Besides that, I'm pretty sure it will juice some new life into the multiplayer aspects as well (new models/maps). Any bit of new life is good in my mind, especially since its been around for so long now.
Anyway, it sucks that it was pushed back a million times, but thats not going to make me purposely not pick up the game. If it gets decent reviews, I'm purchasing it. I buy new games all the time as is.
Bored at work = large rambles, sorryComment

If you've seen the Prima Stragegy Guide for CZ you'd know there are at least 4-5 new maps along with the retextured classic maps in the Turtle Rock CZ that will work for the single player challenges and multiplayer. Apparently the multiplayer leak wasn't complete, nor the finalized version of the game.Comment

Because the bots that are out there right now suck. Realbot is the best one out there right now, and it has problems. The target acquisition is really off - bots acquire one target and dont let go of that target when more enemies come around. They just stand there. Realbot has capabilities of 'learning' a map, but they still cant handle jumps well and they get stuck on doorways all the time. The 'd/l bots' argument is not valid.
so your gonna spend 40 bucks to buy some offline bots, ok, then why not download the many bots for cs 1.6 (which will work offline and LAN as soon as steam works offline, which may well be done before cs:cz comes out) u can practice tacs easily in scrims and even jus with ur team, and if you cant dl 1.6 if you have what is called a friend, they can burn it on a disc If ya gonna be practicin without gettin shot your gonna get a shock when you actually do the things against live players - its been tried and tested - if your gonna practice doing something the best subject is the actual subject, you dont get the same feeling shootin a bot that dont shoot back from the adrenaline/reflex you do in a real cs match/public
You could ask a friend to burn it on a disk for you, I'll give you that. However, not everybody has a friend who already has 1.6 and is also willing to burn you a disk. That 'burn a disc' argument is also flawed.
You obviously missed the whole "target practice" idea I was trying to get across, so I will explain it in simpler terms: Target practice. Not everybody has or wants a team to practice with, so bla bla bla - you get the point.
I know the psychology behind playing real people, and practicing against bots actually improves some, if not most players' reflexes. If you suck, you can use the progressive difficulties of bots to get better to the point where you will have more confidence in your abilities to play online. Bots make a safe environment to 'try things' without pissing people off (like in a match/pub).
Basically, there are Reasons to buy CZ. If these reasons don't apply to you personally, don't buy it and stop bitching about it's existence.Comment

Botman and his crew are working on their bots for cs, they dont just come out their backsides you know, it takes time so the botmans bots arguement is invalid because they are work in progress (who knows they may be better than the cz bots by the time it comes out)

if you have any type of cs clan or use irc you will have a friend that has 1.6, and it doesent take any time for them to burn it and send it in the post or give it to you in hand, you can target practice in pubs if you dont have/want a team, so basically there is no reason to buy cz unless you wanna waste money and reward valve (sierra or whatever you wanna call it, they still work for the same cause) for releasing this thing, when they dont even keep the community up to date on their year long (remember cz was to come out summer, and hl2 has been 4 months and counting) delaysJocky wrote..

Man, why the fuck do you think they delay games? For fun? It's because they're not finished. We'd have been a lot 'more sorry', RanxZY, if they had released the game six months ago, because there wouldn't have been a god damn game. So why don't you wait for the final copy before passing judgement on some warez you found.Comment
