Rofl, I remember reading a FAQ before ordering, now they're complaining, what do you expect?

what exactly constitutes something to be determined as 'common logical sense', you and your self ascertaining assumptions about a few unclear words that valve did not thoroughly explain on the order form? and since when do you speak on behalf of the whole rest of the world? calm down and stop trying to make yourself appear all high and mighty on a counter-strike fan siteComment

Same here.. I bought Silver on the same old HL Steam account.. All I care for is having access to all the new stuff like DoD:S etc.. I don't play any of the old stuff anymore, so don't care if I could have had 2 accounts with it.. I also don't know anyone that would like to buy a account with just the old stuff.. Everybody already got a account of his own, or can buy it for 10 bucks in retail..
*shrug*
I knew what the back-catalogue meant, and I still put it on the old account. I guess I just don't mind paying a little extra for HL2. I don't have a need for a 2nd Steam account anyway.Comment

Let's see. Freshly bought coffee = hot? That's common sense.

If you took the time to think about it for more than a second you'd realize you're getting a new ID. That's common sense.
Something a lot of people are lacking any more, including yourself if you're viewing me as someone who makes himself "appear all high and mighty on a counter-strike fan site." It only seems that way since a lot of people here and across the Internet are too lazy to think anymore and come off as complete morons.Comment

This is completely untrue.
Wow, it was known for a while before hand that in ordering Half-Life 2 you'd get a new ID.
It was stated that if you were banned in the 1.6 days or earlier you would be unbanned if you purchased Half-Life 2.
Put 2 and 2 together, it's not that hard to realize you'd get a new ID.Comment

You're buying an entirely new game, use one of the two brain cells you have and you'd know you're getting a new ID. Idiot.Comment

When you're parting with your money for any product you have a right to know exactly what you're getting and how you're getting it. When I buy a chocolate bar I'd be pretty gutted if I was offered 50% extra nuts, then to find out afterwards I only got them if I made a new account to order my chocolate bar with.
I can imagine how different this situation might of been if it'd been you who'd fallen foul of this Zips?
But No. You're the most intelligent being ever birthed of man. I must of forgotten that for a moment back there.
This is a topic for proper discussion, some of us don't spend our every waking hour on the internet trawling the steampowered forums , we have better things to do - so it's obvious this kinda thing might happen, which still doesn't make it fair.
So - stop bashing people for their lack of commonsense.
After all, we weren't all born with such astronomical powers of utter brilliance as you so obviously were.Comment

I fail to see the point in that article. Women have always been just as much a part of the gaming scene as guys, just there's less of them. Jeez. I mean hey, Unreal Tournament was dominated by women back in the day, there were more 'good' female players then 'good' guy players. And apart from those idiots who try asking girls out over CS, female gamers are not, and have never, been treated any differently from male gamers.
So I really don't see the point of that article. Female gamers? It's a non-issue, there's just nothing to talk about. It's just a dull topic of conversatation that's been gone over a million times and which doesn't need to be bought up in the first place.Comment

They seem to be getting alot of abuse on certain message boards (particulary gotfrag) lately. The people abuseing are the minority however, most people just don't care.
