Counter-Hack Demo Review Team

On 1st January, Counter-Hack's Demo Review Team began operation. They propose to provide leagues with an impartial method of checking post-match demos for signs of hacking.

We will ensure that if a cheater is caught by our DemTeam that he or she will be banned from the current league they are registered in as well as all other registered leagues.

Half-Life_84|CH also tells us that they hope every single league cheater out there will be eventually caught without exception. This is a controversial and ambitious plan, and it remains to be seen how many leagues will take up Counter-Hack's offer. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a new way to prevent your team from being subject to "lucky shots" and "magical long range hearing with x-ray vision" then it's worth a look.

I think that if they can live up to their promises, it would be all the better for leagues to accept this offer.

Unless theres a 100 percent positive detection method then I disagree with banning players based on assumptions.

Surely if U are falsly banned you have the oppotunity to appeal, assuming you can prove you weren't cheating.

you might assume someone is hacking by watching a demo but there is no way to be 100% sure



also, isn't it possible to modify demo files ?

Not a hope in hell. VAC and C-D have failed to do this (so far so good but there's always room for improvement). What makes anyone think they can detect and identify cheaters through .dem files.

Good luck to them but you've got a long struggle ahead of you.
