It's that time of the year again. The Cyberathlete Amateur League prepares for the beginning of its tenth season in just a few days, which means that moveups, movedowns, and preseason information has been released. Preseason week one begins with de_comrade_3rdroute, and week two will be de_aztec. CAL had opted against using Aztec in its official map list last season, but perhaps the changes in the map brought on by 1.6 changed their minds. Open preseason begins Jan. 13, Intermediate begins Jan. 8, Main begins Jan. 7, Premiere begins Jan. 7, and Invite begins Jan. 8.
Season 10 marks the beginning of CAL's Premier division, situated between the Main and Invite divisions. CAL-p will consist of top performing Main clans and lower tier Invite clans.
Additionally, the United Gaming Syndicate league's season begins shortly. For the Main and Advanced divisions, it will begin Jan. 6, and for Open, Jan. 7, with the map being de_dust2 for all divisions. Preseason for Pro and Expert divisions is optional.
