    CPL Coverage Update

Brackets | Maps | Seeds Schedule | CPL Cast | TSN Shoutcast

Good morning, and welcome to CPL day 2. Despite how tired I was last night, I didn't get more than 3 or 4 hours of sleep, so I may have to take a nap mid-way through today. Nonetheless, I'll bring you coverage about some of the top teams playing in the single elimination and I hope to snag some nice interviews as well, with U5 and zEx being among the teams I hope to talk to.

MikeJ and myself will be releasing a CPL: Day 2 article later tonight, so be sure to stop by the site and read it! Also, if there's anything of particular interest that you, the CS-Nation reader is interested in seeing me do or cover, then leave a comment! I always read all the comments and take them into account, so I'm not opposed to getting a few questions and answers even with some of the more "unknown teams".

As far as I know SK has never lost vs GOL/Online, it will be an interesting upcoming match however...

GoL beat SK and faced 3D back when 3D won the championship.

i almost cried that first half with g3x winning 8-4 on ct, but then 3d shut them down 9-1 on ct :p and i was pretty surprised NoA beat e7, player of the game for that match, i think, was shaguar :o

and who suspected SK not doing extremely well against TSO? i mean..come on :p

When was this? In a video I saw from summer cpl they said they hadn't lost to them before I think... Oh well. Maybe you are thinking of the former NiP though? I dunno... I could be wrong.

                  Edit:

Well according to a japanese site seems you were right, winter 2002. I wasn't all into this back then. I only watch CS during CPL since summer, I don't play it anymore. :)

Hey, I was wondering if someone "in the know" could explain the scoring at the CPL to me in a nutshell. I see scores like 20-16 and 16-14. I thought that the CPL was "first to 13" like CAL.

                      Thanks,

                      JackieChad

---- I guess I'm too stupid to click 'post comment' or something, since I tried to ask this question 10 minutes ago and I don't see it posted yet. If it was just delayed, I'm sorry for the double post. ----

If scores are tied 12-12 then they play overtime maxrounds 6 until it's decided.

Wow, thanks. Interesting info. So then I'm guessing for teams of pretty much equal skill, pistol round skill is essentially the deciding factor at the CPL. Six rounds is so few rounds to save and turn around a losing pistol round.

But this GoL is much different, and GoL had elemeNt at the time.. who SK now has. Online won't give SK much trouble. Adren might give SK a run for their money but I doubt it, though I'm pretty sure they'll do the best out of the other teams against SK. Maybe mouz, can't see 3D or anyone else doing much.

If I look at the brackets right, adren should end up playing 3D.

I'd like to see you give some playing tips to 3D ... just to make sure they are all up to par. Theyve been struggling a bit on Lan so just let em know what theyre doing wrong - theyll thank you for it! Besides how could some youngsters like team 3D refuse advice from an experienced CPL vet like sublyme?
